I thought it was June 4th... Oh well. It frustrates me how people speak out against war and don't appreciate the sacrifices our armed forces make to ensure our freedom and saftey. I've been playing Call of Duty today and there are some deep quotes in there.
"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must
suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war."
- General Douglas MacArthur
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded
state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is
much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight,
nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable
creature, and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the
exertions of better men than himself."
- John Stuart Mill
"All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing."
- Edmund Burke, British statesman and philosopher
"You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war."
- Kosovar
"Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that
men have died to win them."
- Franklin D. Roosevelt
