If the warranty is gone I would open it up and see if I could figure it out. I do not advise you to do that unless you know what you are doing however. First I would try a different outlet and then a differnt power cord, most electronics now a day come with a cable with an end on it identical to the xbox cable, Sony product almost always have one. If that doesn't work I would open it up and check for a fuse in the box, but don't shock yourself. Oh does the light on the front come on at all? Or you just get nothing when you hit the power?
