Hot-seating is what you do for, usually, turn based games when you want to play 2 or more players but have no internet play available. You choose hot-seat and select the number of players then each person takes their turn at a single computer. I used to do this with Masters of Magic by MicroProse Software Inc. and Civilization II with my buddies. This of course was fixed by RTS games where both people play at the same time when TCP/IP play became more widely used. And nice podcast, very funny.
