Blastacular Map Update
The Blastacular Map Pack has been updated to fix bugs and superjumps before eing deployed to Matchmaking. The two new maps for Halo 2, Desolation and Tombstone, have both been replaced with updated versions, with the geometry fixes added. You will need these to use them in Matchmaking. More new on that later this week.

well I have a new problem i had the new maps bought and up to date but when i took off hardrive to put it on a diffrent 360 and put it back to my old one it said that some files and maps have been corrupted and have to be re dl but when the dl is almost finish it says"Instalation of this content failed. Go to www.xbox.com for more information about this" i have no clue wut to do since i cant restart the dl and i i dont know how to delete the halo 2 files to re download it all over again. can somone help me?

easy solution...tell me if im wrong..but havent they given u the ability to d.l. updates from the computer and then burn to a disk and pay through xbox.com...they've done that for some updates and stuff in the past.... "but oh wait, if they download maps online, then they have the files right there and can mod away" well, think about it....how many ppl are able to mod files to begin with( a very small %) and even less will be able to edit files like "map-07/blsttacupdate.xxsyd" face it. if ppl mod(and they will regardless) they will find ways...like they already can transport files to/from xbox to comp. the only thing that "giving" them the maps does is save them 5 min thay they would have spent transferring the file if anything, they can make an auto downloader prog, etc so that actual access to the files are hidden, encripted so they are less likely to be tampered with... but like i said, if theres a will ,there's a way so screw this, ill just play Gears of War i just got (finally) till it goes free.... I fixed this problem for my account a few minutes ago. I changed two things to get a successful download on my 360 so either one of these might be the solution. 1.- I had multiple credit cards on my 360 (all but 1 were expired), i did have the working one selected but i still couldn't download. I went to www.xbox.com and adjusted my billing options so i only had the 1 working card on my 360. I selected the expired credit cards and selected the "transfer all purchased to card xxx". After i was done all but one of the cards had "(removed)" next to them. 2.-After which, I erased all halo 2 files on my xbox 360. #1 is probably the solution, but if it doesn't work try #2....hope this helps

k go to account management and than go to payment options set your credit card as your primary payment option even if it already is and than re download it will work trust me

so am i my bro downloaded the maps on his xbox then i downloaded them on my 360. then they did the update and i redownloaded them which it said purchase again and he got charged a third time and he had to pay over draft fees on his credit card....wtf bungie....

I have never downloaded this map and I can no longer enter matchmaking because the maps are "missing". When I try to download the maps (Why I am forced to pay £2 for the privialage god only knows but it SUCKS!!!) I get a payment error. So for the time being Halo 2 no longer works for me. I hope bungie or microsoft can figure this out. On the 360 console I have an old credit card I cannot delete and I have added a new one to the account for new payments. But the problem might be I cannot select which card to use in halo 2 because it's a xbox1 title running on a xbox 360. Have the boys at bungie figured this out already? Also the boys at microsoft, how do you delete old credit card info? Mine seems to default to the old card No. every time I make a payment But when I add microsoft points I can select which card to use. In halo 2 there is no such option which is what I think the problem is in my case. It still dosent answer why I have to pay £2 just so I can use the matchmaking facility in halo 2 though, that still Sucks.

its not letting me download them it keeps saying try agian later and ive been trying the past week itll start to downlaod then it will downlaod really fast saying theres an error i need help cuz now i cant play match making .......in my opinion its microsofts way into scamming 4 dollars. pathetic if u ask me. and then they say there fixed and we can downlaod the maps but ooo wait theres a ceche.. u gotta pay another 4 dollars meh! i think that microsoft needs to gets there act strait [Edited on 05.14.2007 9:39 PM PDT]

I can still not download these maps, I have tried calling bungie and no luck, is there anything you can d to help me?? Because i just got new 360, my old one stuffed up, and I had the updated version on that.. so why doesnt it work? Please help =/

Yeah...think I'm done with Halo 2, until the new maps go free. Just feeling really burned by this whole situation. I originally purchased the maps no problem, but was one of the many with the "Installation of content failed" crap. But I didn't -blam!- and complain, I just patiently waited for it to get fixed like Frankie said it was. So then I see Frankie announce that the map pack should be fixed. I fire up Halo 2, hit the Content Download section, and what's this? Gotta purchase it again? Okay, but why is it two of my friends that had the same problem were able to download them without being asked to buy them again? Thought about it for a couple days and decided to get my $4 refunded, if only for the principle of it. So I call up Xbox Support, and get stuck with an Indian woman whose English was so bad that I could barely understand her. Nonetheless, I politely explain my situation and ask for a refund. She then feeds me a line that I cannot be refunded the $4 until I purchase the maps again, that a second charge would prove to them that I was charged the first time and unable to get the maps. Followed by asking me to turn on my 360 and go ahead and re-purchase the maps while on the line with her. To which I flat out refused to do. I said I simply would not purchase again until the first one was refunded. She told me that I until I re-purchased the maps there was nothing they could do. At that point I just hung up. $4 simply isn't worth it. The Xbox Support line is a JOKE. And no disrespect, but continually telling us to call it, when it just gets us nowhere, is also a joke. So yeah, I'm done with Halo 2 until the new maps are free. I will not purchase them again, especially since there's no guarantee I'd be able to download them anyway. "Fool me once...". Hell, I've already had to bow out on a Halo night with my friends since I'm the only one without the maps. I can live without Halo 2 until July. [Edited on 05.14.2007 1:08 AM PDT]

yo everyone just stop playing halo 2 and try to get every person the know to stop and so on until they make the damn maps free i am not going to pay for maps i already pay for xbox live why the -blam!- should we have to pay for every game we want to pay rip off and if halo 2 is like this i will never buy halo 3 i am willing to bet they will charge you for every map on the game so -blam!- halo 2 and bungie bye bye!!!!!

Lets go bungie... i waiting to play matchmaking, its bad enough we have to pay money for matchmaking (cough cough sounds like a scam), and then the content that i need to download doesnt work (have a 360), why dont u try pulling your head out of your asses and do something about it cause its not just me with this problem.... you HAVE NOT FIXED ANYTHING with the blastacular map update, bungie u just -blam!- everything up even more than before.

I think Im seeing a trend here....those of you that cant redownload the maps because of "purchase failed" , did u all get ur accounts by the cards u buy at local stores? My friends that bought their accounts by credit card arent having problems. please reply, if this is true...is there any way to put in ur credit card to buy the new maps again?

This is so -blam!-, everyday since the update i find myself trying to redownload the maps over and over again but everytime it says purchase failed. So bungie screwed every1 because of superjumping and maybe another 4 bucks here and there. Does any1 know how I can fix this problem? cuz i know calling someone wont help

When i try to download the blastacular pack it won't let me it says that i won't be charged and that the purchase failed. I get this about every map pack but the other ones eventually let me download them but his one won't.
