The last time I checked, there weren't any "requirements" for customers having to do work in order to play their game. Why should I be held accountable for their problem? It's your fault if all you do is play customs besides what are the odds that you will get those 2 maps in a ranked game anyways if they added them it's all random.

WELL, I FOR 1 ONLY HAVE AROUND 1300 GAMES PLAYED FOR ALL OF THE PLAYLISTS TOGETHER. I FINALLY GET OUT OF THE NOOB PHASE AND CLOSER TO 30 RANK THAN 20 RANK(FLOATING AT 27). HAVEN'T PICKED THE CONTROLLER UP IN 2 DAYS BECAUSE I'M WAITING FOR THE RANK RESET. IT MAKES ME ANGRY THAT A RESET IS EVEN ON THE TABLE. I'M NOT A "FANTASTIC" PLAYER, BUT I'M BETTER THAN AVERAGE. EVEN SO, IT STILL TAKES TIME TO GET MY RANK ABOVE 25. ive downloaded the new maps 4 times on my 360 and it says they are corrupt and i have to download them again although i can play them in custom matches i cant play any matchmaking games it says i dont have maps required in the matchmaking game does any1 kno wats wrong im going CrAzY.

This has been one of the biggest fuster clucks in gaming history! Maps I bought almost 2 weeks ago should have been put into matchmaking even if only for some kind of unranked game. And how long does it take for somebody at bungie to write a quick post with an update on the status of this fiasco. Since I bought these maps there have been only 2 update posts that I know of. But if someone flames someone or breaks one of bungies silly little comunist type rules, there is always an immediate response threatening to ban someone from the forums. I love Halo, it is the best game ever, but the people who run this website are in serious need of new leadership. Hopefully heads will roll after this mess and maybe this site will eventually become a place worth visiting again.

is it really that hard to put an unranked game type with the newmaps? atleast that way we can start enjoying something new to breakup the endless monotony without it giving an unfair advantage. don't get me wrong,the game play is unmatched but how many times can you play in the same surroundings with out wanting to hang yourself?

why do you have to reset the ranks

i can't download the maps and have spent several hours calling xbox and talking to their ...how should i say this.....somewhat lacking customer support. i have done everything they have asked for and even went over to a friends house who live 1 mile away and tried to d/l them, he d/l them on the first day but yet i cannot at his house with my box sitting on top of his. now i have a interesting question about something that came to mind as i looked at our xboxes sitting one on top of the other...... he has a premium xbox and i bought a core and added the hard drive could this have anything to do with it? so my question is: what xbox are you on when you can't d/l the maps?

After purchasing the maps... the only way to check if they have been made part of the matchmaking playlist(s) this past week has been to log in and play matchmaking?!? Obscurity with intention is one thing... Leaving users hanging with minimal information is something all together different.. It would be awesome to see you guys post information related to ongoing updates with a little more regularity.. Surfing the forums to hear the hype in an attempt to learn more... or, logging in and playing matchmaking until you realize that the maps you've purchased aren't there yet is no fun. I think this is good because i have done everything it says to trouble shoot the problem of downloading the new maps and they are still being -blam!-. So I hope I can download them before to long other wise i want my money refunded.

I'm sure I'd be on hold for at least 30 minutes while the guy from XBL tried to figure out what I meant by rank resets and matchmaking playlist updates. :) Really though, I appreciate your responses - I will be the first to admit that I threw that last part in for the spite factor, but it was just to prove a point. Really, I could see some frustration coming through on your end because you guys are having to deal with a huge pile of -blam- in your backyard. I think if you read the majority of my posts, you would understand that imy frustration is more than just the maps themselves, but the entire game community as a whole and the psychological aspect of the gamers knowing that their ranks will be reset and therefore abandoning the community until the updates have taken place. Ever since the announcement was made, (about 2-3 weeks now?), the game has really been put in a "hold" state. I for one was logging in at 2:00mst everyday this week until Frankie posted his update because I was so excited to finally play a decent game. I was one of the dudes who stood in line at 12:00am the day halo2 came out so I could purchase my collectors edition and start playing before everyone else. You have us hooked like little addicts here, so for those of us that do have the maps to hear you say "it might be another week" is like sticking a dagger into our hearts and than twisting it just a bit more. But hey, you all are right, I can't complain because I downloaded the maps the day they came out on my 360 with no problems whatsoever. On a side note - don't know if this might be interesting to you folks at bungie, but like I said, I've downloaded the maps with no problem - when I go to start matchmaking and I am at the screen where i can choose quick, opti, create party , or content download, the icon showing that there is new download content (the circle with the down arrow) is still being displayed. When I go to the DLC area, the icon with the star in it (i've always thought that meant I needed to download the pack) is still being displayed. It does however say that I have purchased the map pack pack and there is a checkmark in the picture (and the maps are playable). I don't know if the icons are just displayed by default to show that there is a new map, but the first time I restarted my xbox after I downloaded the maps, I almost tried to download them again because I thought it was saying they hadn't been downloaded yet. I haven't actually tried to redownload them if it was already successful because I've heard from some that that might cause the same issue that people are having now, but I figured I'd share that with you anyways. Again, thank you for your responses achronos - yes, i'm not just another jerk trying to be a -blam!-. To be quite honest, I am currently a student majoring in CIS and I'm in the process of launching my own website right now. I was ecstatic when I found out about XNA Game Studio Express and am currently studying up on Csharp to see what I can do. I understand the daily grind man, we appreciate all the work you guys do, just remember we are people too (and more importantly you're paying customers).

Bungie is just trying to create media buzz. For one thing, not all playlists require the new maps. The autoupdate could be implemented, and everyone could play. Second of all, if my memory is correct, when other maps were released you could attempt to play any playlist you wanted. If you went into MM and found a match that was going to play a map you didn't have, you'd get kicked to the pregame lobby with a map error message, and someone who did have the maps would fill your place. So, in reality, everyone can play every playlist. There is no reason to hold on the update.

Well thats all fine and dandy but what are you guys at bungie going to do with all the people who are still standbying and team standbying?????
