Is the upcoming story that thrills us all (the new game of course) inspired by the books of the Mayans, the Chilam Balam? There are some pretty strong parallels that can be drawn. One, is the belief that one of their "gods from the stars" tells them he will leave and return to fight and defend them from other "gods from the stars." That sounds a lot like the new setting to me, what with one alien protecting us from another and all ;-)
