•
Posted by: spawn031
Posted by: Humble Rose Can we get a source of this? Because the largest group I know of has about 5000 members last time I checked, and the only active forums are the Flood and Community forum where you see the same people over and over.
The account you're posting on right now which has a creation date of... today has a "member ID #" 12087543, which is account number 12,087,543. Yes, there are a good 12 million accounts on bungie.net. (I got the number from the URL once clicking on your bungie.net profile page. Mine is 948,932. Achronos is 1. How active the community forum and flood forum is irrelevant. The people that use the forums are in the minority. Some just strictly stick to private groups, others just look at Halo stats. Some register accounts just to post in the news forum or post their artwork.
Posted by: Achronos The VAST majority of both anonymous and logged in users come to bungie.net for the game stats. In comparison to that statistic, the forums are not the primary reason people come here. And with just the forums, there are a lot more readers than posters on any given day.
Fun Fact: Bungie released an info-graphic this past March on stats with Halo and Bungie.net. As of March 2012, there are 319,000+ private groups on bungie.net. Bungie.net is much bigger than we know.
That was kind of my point. Members and accounts aren't necessarily the same thing, not in the context I'm describing at least. I linked my gamertag to the Waypoint site, but by no means do I consider myself a member since I don't use their community services. I feel a lot of the accounts here are from the old days anyway when Bungie was making games. I wasn't aware we had these many groups though, but in all honestly, I expect most of them to be abandoned or didn't take off.
