What will happen when the Destiny members arrive? What would YOU do?

I hope this is the right forum to post this, with Destiny n stuff, but also Community... If not, please lock With Destiny coming out somewhere in the future, the game will also bring a whole bunch of new members to the forums. There will be a new forum: The Destiny forum But also in older forums/fora these new membres will spread. The community forum will be populated again, the Flood will probably flood... They wont know the rules as much as we do, and they wont have a title in the beginning... So what do YOU think will happen when the new members arrive? And what will you do before/when the newbies arrive? Will you troll them some extra? Will you try to get them to know the place? Personally, my goal is to be a friendly member from now on, resulting in achieving a title, so that I can be recocnised from rhe other members. And when the newbs arrive, ill be the nice member who wants to welcome them! To the Mods: Will you be more tolerant in the beginnong to these new members? When they post in the wrong forum for example? [Edited on 01.05.2013 4:27 AM PST]

 • I see people in the Flood who I don't recognize all the time, I don't think meeting people who are new to the site will be any different though I'm sure a lot of them are going to be incredibly misinformed on a variety of subjects ("I heard that most of Bungie's Employees went to work for 343 Industries!"), but then again that's no different from normal.

 • I am fine with new people coming here. Just hoping it is soon, Bungie has been hinting to a reveal approaching on Twitter.

 • I will tell the noobs that the Mythics are the Employees and that the ones with the gold text are just the lower level members who were given the gold text out of pity, then tell them that the Forum Ninjas are our cleaning crew. They'll never suspect a thing.

But it shouldn't be because you want a title. A title doesn't set you apart either, how you act does. OT: I would like to help the new members in anyway I can. Answering questions, helping them make friends by inviting them to groups, and just giving them some adivice. Just simple stuff like that. [Edited on 01.04.2013 4:04 PM PST]

 • I won't do anything different, and I won't do anything mean either. If anyone asks me for help though I'm going to try and help.

 • In the past, it's a bit of a mess. Usually there is a lot of posting in the wrong forums, but it happens in spurts, so the moderators don't catch it right away. Unfortunately, this leads to a significant number of people who misunderstand a forum's purpose, and learn to use it the wrong way. Take it from me that it is usually...frustrating.

But they don't set you apart and people won't know you because a title you have. People will know you based off of your interactions with this community and how you act. I encourage you to be friendly and make friends but please don't do it because you think it will earn you a title. It won't. Titles are earned through activity here. • I have a good deal of saved threads that I will use to guide new members who ask broad questions like using the site or forums. As for basic questions I will gladly assist them in a nice brief and helpful post. Ignorance is to be expected of new members and being nice and helpful will make them more likely to stay and contribute positively.

The Mods are going to be busy with those threads... They might need reinforcements! Where do I volunteer to be a mod? [Edited on 01.04.2013 4:55 PM PST]

 • The mods had better not be nice to the new members. In fact I think they should choose one member to ritualistically permaban and then post it on the front page, just to put the fear of God in them. This is not me volunteering to be that member. [Edited on 01.04.2013 5:26 PM PST]

 • Eh, same thing will happen that happened with Halo 2, 3, and Reach. A boom of activity (Maybe not to the magnitude that Halo brought), and all of the nonsense that comes with it. I can already hear the mods doing benches with their hammers in preparation for the trolls and fools. As for me, I'll do the same thing I do now. Post in threads I like, report those that don't belong, and act the same as I do now.
