Is there any way it could happen to reach 100k-200k again?
The only way is if halo 4 sucked completely what do you think?
Its only a dream...that will probably never ever come true!(hopefully it will)!
Posted by: II gaped II no and back in halo 3's prime there was more than 200k people on at a given time. I remember when team slayer alone would be pushing 60k players on weekend nights, if not more
And that my friend, was a good time. Sometimes I honestly wish I could go back in time just to experience Halo 3 in it's prime once more. Yes, it was that magical.

Sadly never... I really wish it would
Posted by: CM Punk I very much doubt that Halo 3 will get an anniversary but who knows.
If Halo 2 does than Halo 3 certainly will.
Posted by: bryo you mean 2007/8? Yeah this game was awesome.
You should include 2009 because it was still #1/2 on xbox live...really until Reach's launch which was late 2010.

The game will only lose more players as Halo 4 releases.
Posted by: IBamBi o The answer is no.
That is correct. And yet if you love the game and feel a lot in result, you will be like us oldsters on the CE site. Recollecting with people who had the same reactions and tried the same stuff. Is ok. The commonality and devotion is transcending. Have fun with it.

The answer is no.

I don't even think Reach can get back up to 100k after Halo 4. Hell, it's barley there now.
-
It's just natural for most people to play bad new games rather than good old games.
-
yes it will ... In fact if you go turn your xbox on, throw in that disk and start waiting ... your sure to be the first in line when the rush starts - lol
-
People will always be back for the amazing H3. Most of us really enjoy the ranking system too, so we will always maintain a number of players that H2 didn't have.
Posted by: nightspark Maybe if a tenth anniversary is released in 2017.
So I'm not alone on this :)
-
Unless the servers for Halo 3 are going to be shut off at a an announced date in the future (like what happened to Halo 2), I'm certain that Halo 3 will never become populated/popular like it was in 2009 or 2010.

I remember when team slayer alone would be pushing 60k players on weekend nights, if not more
Ahh, the memories....I remember my friends and I blowing every weekend on Living Dead whenever it came up. I miss being able to jump into a match in 15 seconds :(
yeah i remember when social slayer had 100,000 plus people or in the first week of halo 3 seeing over a million gamers online . -blam!- nuts man
Yes, the population hit 1.2 million the first weekend after release. I also remember the early DEXP playlists, like SWAT, having 200,000 players. Good times. There is no way it will ever approach the numbers it had before Reach. It will actually continue to decrease.
Yeah it never will again but at least for some of us that have been there since day 1 we know how awesome it once was. Like you said, you could find games in double exp playlists in like 10 seconds because of all the people playing them
