Bnet Community On Twitter! - Now With Discussion Value!
[i]Note: Original Thread was locked since thread did not promote discussion, and I had bumped it far to many times. But, since I believe one of the core functions of this site is to keep people connected, and to help better connect through other outlets, I shall include a discussion point to this topic.[/i]
Get connected with the Bungie.net Community Twitter List!
I use Twitter as the quickest outlet to interact with Members here, since it is easy to connect with people without having to share personal credentials. So, I think it's time we made a Twitter Thread Database. Here, you can share your usernames with others to have your Twitter Account act as a secondary interaction outlet that will continue to connect you with Members throughout the Community.
If you wish to participate, then post your username here. I will then update the OP with the list of Members, their Bnet usernames and the username for their Twitter Acccount.
SO! If you want this thread to stay open, or around (since a few of you inquired where it had gone), either save the thread and or paticipate in the following question:
Do you enjoy using other social media outlets such as Twitter to keep in touch with Bnet members? Why? Or do you wish to remain solely as a participant here and have no other connections beyond that?

@Halotitan I don't really use social media a whole lot other than to promote my blog (check Sig) and keep in touch with my friends. I've been getting into twitter more and more, but most people tell me what they're eating rather than something I care about.

I used to be of the mindset of only being on here. I had let my twitter account go dormant. Since the last thread I have have enjoyed adding some people and posting on my acocunt more. I think it is pretty cool getting to know some of the members a bit better on twitter. You get to peek into some of their other interests and not just what gets posted on here or groups. Also it is nice being able to have quick little convos instead of slow drawn out ones on the forums. I must say this is the most I have interacted with the community in a long long time.

I follow over 1500 people and have over 1700 followers. Sure, it would be nice to communicate with B.net members on twitter but it's going to be kinda hard to see all your tweets. I have a list though, but I rarely use that feature. [Edited on 09.12.2012 8:55 AM PDT]

I don't like using twitter at all. I find it to be the worst thing since facebook. I will use facebook because there is some value in it, but twitter is useless. [url=http://tosh.comedycentral.com/blog/files/2012/02/social-media-explained.jpg]This pretty much sums it up[/url] I like Facebook because it helps me keep up with people I would otherwise not do so with. Twitter is more of a popularity thing.

No one I know personally uses it, and if I want to talk to people from Bnet, I'll just use Bnet." But a few months back, I started getting into it. I had friends on here I enjoyed joking around with, and figured since I had the app on my phone, shooting messages back and forth to someone from here was similar to texting without cost. I don't have to share my phone number, and I don't need to share personal details, nor do I have to construct a profile really of any sort. I can just be the person I am here, on Twitter. I can quickly joke with Members on a more simple and casual level, that is just personable enough without always having to come here to seek out structured conversation.

They wouldn't unlock your original thread to edit in a simple discussion value? I get the feeling that some of the mods dislike you to an extent. Not personally, but because you take the rules to such a literal sense to make everything you post technically fall within proper guidelines. OT: I don't use Twitter often. I only check for major sports news and stuff.

Turns out Mythical Wolf did and he is the reason I just realized I will be receiving some sort of prize for the Mail Sack challenge last week. I love any form of communication between a Bungie Community member and myself. We are a tight-knit, self sufficient site (for now, but we'll always be tight-knit) and it is best that communicate, regardless of the location.

I enjoy going on Facebook more than Twitter. I went through that phase already, tweeted 3,000 times in under two months then lost interest.

I was already connected to a few members via MSN, Skype, cell number, XBL, and Facebook. But Twitter makes it so much easier. It's not as personal as Facebook, but it's a lot easier to communicate. [Edited on 09.12.2012 12:26 PM PDT]

Even though I've only been using Twitter for about a week now, and I still have no idea when I'm doing. I can see it's an easy way to connect with Bungie.net users offsite. Most of us have phones that are capable of using twitter on the go, so it's always there when you're bored and wanting to talk to some people. Basically, it's just a good way to keep in contact offsite.
