Okay, so I have about ten contacts, but I have about 200 friends on Facebook. So here's what I'll do.
1. Post on Facebook saying I got a new phone and lost everyone's numbers.
2. Ask everyone to PM me their number.
3. Tons of numbers for me to text if I want!
So, explain any fallacies or problems with this plan.
-
Problem: Not everyone gonna respond to that
-
Damn man, you sound lonelier than all hell. Go hang out IN PERSON with the people whose numbers you currently have.
-
You're going to end up on /b/.
-
Even if 10% of my friends respond, that's twenty more numbers!
Posted by: Unit 076 Problem: Not everyone gonna respond to that
Been on /b/ for three hours now, haven't seen this. You've lied to me.
Posted by: ThePolack You're going to end up on /b/.
I tried this before, like you I am not really cell phone popular, I'm popular irl and have like 350 friends on Facebook, 2 people responded.
-
That's because no one loves you! I will surely get replies! I'll update this thread tomorrow after I try.
Posted by: Epicly Uber I tried this before, like you I am not really cell phone popular, I'm popular irl and have like 350 friends on Facebook, 2 people responded.

Posted by: Unit 076 Problem: Not everyone gonna respond to that
Agreed.
-
Why do you have to lie? Can't you just say you need numbers?
-
It's pretty much my parents and people who live far away from me. And the other people dun wanna'. No. Maybe afterwards I'll be like, "Gotcha! I didn't really get a new phone, I just didn't want to ask people for their numbers!"
Posted by: Emperor Gillard Why do you have to lie? Can't you just say you need numbers?
Lol, my phone integrates people on my fb profile and there phone numbers and their fb profiles. So i have all my fb friends fb profiles. i got an HTC Titan windows phone

Yeah! Windows Phone!

What's the point of having contacts in your phone if you're rarely gonna speak to them anyway? If you don't already have their number, it probably means you don't talk to them.
-
No, it means I never asked them!
Posted by: RAndomTag94 What's the point of having contacts in your phone if you're rarely gonna speak to them anyway? If you don't already have their number, it probably means you don't talk to them.
If you really do speak often, getting their numbers will come almost naturally. You certainly shouldn't be uncomfortable enough with them to need to make a FB event as an excuse to ask them for it.

Thing is, that will only work once every few years. If you actually bust your phone, they won't believe you :P Sort of like the boy who cried wolf...

-
I hate when people invite you to those -blam!- events for numbers. It's annoying.
-
I'll update at 12:00 o'clock PST tomorrow with the results.
-
i know a better way. write your phone number on a stall in a public restroom. you will get loads of numbers.
-
Posted by: Odahviing So, explain any fallacies or problems with this plan.
People get these messages all the time, and will ignore them. You're not gonna end up with as many numbers as you might think.

It's not a new tactic.
