How can you be a mythic and not be known?

Honestly, it takes years of constant activity, yet no one knows you? How is that possible? I don't get it.

  • Groupity groups, good sir. Also, I always thought activity was relative to signing in, and not posting.

  • I'm Mythic (at least at the moment) yet I'm pretty unknown. I imagine being active in private groups and the mains would help, but I don't post in groups very much.

  •
Posted by: antony X1000 yet I'm pretty unknown.
You're recognizable at the very, very least. Anywho as for me, depends on your crowd. I'm unheard of in, say, the Flood forum. But if you went to the Halo 3 forum a couple years back I'd wager a good amount of people recognized me if I may say so. Community forum always gets the same people as well. Even if you don't like the other person it's easy to recognize them since we often get the same people again and again.

I always thought it was that and playing games on your linked gamertag.
some theorize that having a linked gamertag helps, but the activity of the gamertag has nothing to do with your b.net title. it's all about how often you visit the site for activity. Post count only helps you get Intrepid or Fabled.

If you've been here actively for years then you will be known in the areas where you spend most of your time. If you venture out of these areas then you probably won't be recognized. For example if a member spends three years in the septagon and groups populated by septagon regulars they could become mythic. If they went to the Flood then they wouldn't be recognized.

  • Same way you could be normal, "Heroic" and "Legendary" and known. Not to mention that those who seem more recognizable is different from user to user.

  • In some cases, yes; but not in all. There are some really nice, well-known people, and that is usually because they do not address their popularity, and are more humble about it than others. :)
Posted by: CrabbySpider If your well known on this site a lot of the time its for all the wrong reasons.
