Wow glad we all busted our @ss for recon for nothing...
Does any one else think its dumb that those of us who actually had to work to get the vidmasters did it for nothing? Why would they just give it away, would it really be that harsh to leave the recon button up and make people work for it?

I only didn't do annual but that is ok.

You still got the achievement. On my Halo 3 tag I got all 79/79 and I think that's pretty impressive. Same with ODST.

Whilst I wouldn't do it if I was in charge, everyone still has the achievements as proof.

ODST takes a while and Halo 3 has a couple that are difficult so I'm proud of those. Reach and CEA are extremely easy (too easy imo), but you did a good job completing the series. God look at all you hypocrites. First off Recon armor had to be earned. Very few people had it. After that they released the vidmaster challenges which was unfair to those who had earned it the legit way and now 5 years later people are still complaining about that armor and this time about it being available for everyone. I can tell you this. If you did the vidmasters you didn't earn Recon. It was really easy to get it and you basically got it without doing anything. Who cares if it becomes available to everyone after 5 years. Who still plays Halo 3? Not that many poeple last time I checked. [Edited on 04.01.2012 5:04 AM PDT]

You can still get the achievements. Just pretend you don't already have it, and you've earned it the same way everyone else did.

They did it because the "Unlock Recon" button here no longer works as of yesterday. 343i could have recoded the button on their site, but why should they waste the time doing that for a(n almost) 5 year old game?

I was a little annoyed that everyone was getting Recon at first then I hoped it would bring back people who left Halo 3. At least I have the chievvos!

Try getting the annual achievement with a friend thats playd the game twice, or finishing the firefight mission as the only one alive and a plasma pistol. Time has nothing to do with it anyway, who cares if its been 5 yrs? I dont really thinks its much of a big deal anyway just a waste of effort

The achievements are still there and you can still get them if you'd like, but there is no reason to spend the time recoding something like that. At the end of the day, it's just armor and it has no affect on the gameplay. Quit overreacting.
