Halo Custom Edition overide antialiasing in NVIDIA... is it possible?

I recently got the antialiasing injector that someone (I think Zetren...) posted earlier. It works amazing in regular Halo since I have the Antialiasing mode in the NVIDIA Control Panel to override the application settings. However, I still cannot use the override thing on Custom Edition. I am forced to use the "Enhance the application setting" setting. It just does not look as good as Halo PC. The override caused my screen to go black as soon as I start the game. I can hear the main menu music, and hear the sound that it makes when the mouse scrolls over a button. I downloaded and installed the 1.09 version of Open Sauce. Overall it looks amazing, but the antialiasing part (pixelisation around edges of objects) is... bad... Is there any way that I can use the override setting without the game crashing? All of my drivers are up to date and I have a NVIDIA GeForce 570.

 • Sorry man, I though you completely ignored what I wrote by saying you still forced it, which leads me to asking, forcing AA in the control panel works in PC for you? I've never heard of that working before, override or enhanced forced AA not working for CE would make sense as CE's shaders are present in their own seperate files for moders, whereas PC's sharers are in a dll I think. Take my advice, use SMAA for both. Rename SMAA's d3d.dll (I think its called that) to d3d_proxy.dll to make it compatible with OS, and enjoy. [Edited on 01.22.2012 12:05 PM PST]

 •
Posted by: Zetren
Posted by: the omega man117 It looks slightly better, but I still can't use the override setting in the NVIDIA control panel.
... Are you that moronic?
Posted by: Zetren Hey omega, Before I fully read this, *Clears throat* NEVER EVER ENABLE ANTIALIASING IN THE NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL FOR EITHER HALO PC OR HALO CE. IT DOES NOT WORK.

The injector and OS have AA. I know without those it does not work. It makes no sense to me if it does not work when AA is enabled in game. Also, when I turned AA to enhance instead of override in regular PC, I could see a difference in quality. It does work in Halo PC. I am assuming that if whatever allows Halo PC to work with the override AA setting is applied to CE then the override AA setting on the NVIDIA control panel will work. I just have no idea what that thing is. I had heard that the reason it doesn't work is because CE uses "fast shaders". If these are replaced with whatever PC uses, then AA override should work. Also Zetren, I am not that moronic. I am sorry if my English is bad ("Deutschland über alles!"). In terms of how Halo PC/CE works I have a relatively clear understanding.

 • It looks slightly better, but I still can't use the override setting in the NVIDIA control panel. The override for antialiasing works perfectly fine (amazing) for regular Halo PC. I am still getting that black screen for Custom Edition.

 •
Posted by: Dr Syx You didn't pay attention to the directory. When you install OS v3.0.0 it places a folder in your "C:\users\[Name here]\Documents\My Games\Halo CE" folder named "OpenSauce". In there is the "OS_settings.User.xml" file.
Ah. Sorry. I tend to not notice things like that. Hopefully this will work.

 •
Posted by: Zetren Right then. AA in Halo PC can be achieved using the injector, I understand this is working perfectly in your Halo PC. AA in Halo CE can be achieved by using the injector in the exact same way, or by using OpenSauce and editing the OS_Settings.User.xml file in "C:\Users\*name*\Documents\My Games\Halo CE\OpenSauce" and enabling FXAA FXAA isnt as good lookng as SMAA (injectors version) though, I havnt tested the injector with OpenSauce but ill try after posting this. Hope you get it working :)
There is no "OpenSauce" folder in my Halo CE folder. When I used the Open Sauce installer, it just put everything in the CE folder without a sub-folder. Also, there is no "OS_settings.User.xml" file in there. This is the 1.09 version of OS.
