Bungie Weekly Update
Hey! It's the Bungie Weekly Update, this time with 40% less preachiness! A few tidbits about the game, the movie, PAX and the next Halo novel, but nothing to tell your grandchildren about when you grow old. So don't get too excited.

Best Update concerning Halo 3 since E3. A few new Halo 3 tidbits were revealed. We now know that there is a remake of a past Halo map (which we probably could have guessed) and Frankie even gave us some details on the map to keep us guessing. As pretty much everyone else has said, I am guessing that the remake is zanzibar, though there are a few others it could be. What we know is that there is an awesome sunset on the map and it probably has some inside parts to the level as Frankie stated how the lighting is from a darker area of the map to the lighter one. I think we can role out all the Halo 1 maps besides Sidewinder, as the rest of the maps in Halo 1 are all inside maps (besides Blood Gulch/Coag). Frankie also revealed a few details from another map (midsized apparently) that Frankie said was his favorite, featuring nice scenary including trees and a banshee as well as "obvious defensible positions and creepy, narrow hallways". I am guessing that this is a new map entirely. The "obvious defensible positions and creepy, narrow hallways" was also given as a clue towards the new game variant. P.S. I can't wait to see what's "contained" in the next book (possibly Halo 3 story details) [Edited on 8/4/2006]

Yes, great update props to the soon to be spoiler king. Hopefully anywayrs :). Other than that I just want to say that I come very close to peeing my self in anticiapation of this game.

Frankie, I know your reading this (if you aren't then It is impossible for me to be wrong, because you don't know I said that I know you are reading this...muahahahaha) So in the next update, put a total of 7 sevens anywhere in the next update if you do like Tacos. (If you like tacos alot, I MEAN ALOT, then make them add up to seven every time. (2,5...3,4....etc) I will be watching.

That was the best Weekly Update since last week's Weekly Update. Although some people are "dissapointed" by the lack of information, I thought it was just fine. Maybe too much. I don't care if we don't get a lot of information because I have patience. I can and will have to wait for the big surprises. As will all of you.

After reading the many updates that came after Halo 3's annoucne including this one, I'm pretty sure the new gametype is Zombies. And I thought that it was Zanzibar as well. [Edited on 8/4/2006]

Great update, I get pretty excited hearing about the HDR lighting and how beautiful the game looks even if I haven't seen any screens yet. They will come in time, but for now great stuff keep up the good work over there.

Interesting. But I get the impression he was talking about Blood Gulch as the "old favorite". Makes sense, since he also talked about Banshees in that map, and there were Banshees in Coagulation...

I'm disappointed that HDR won't affect gameplay :( I was looking forward to that kind of enviromental advantages (your base is dark and when people attack they can't see all that well).
