Ok, I am new to all of this halo stuff. Two years ago me father told me to choose between and gamecube, xbox, or PS2. I picked gamecube for one game that I thought was cool, Metroid prime. I mean what the H??l dude, why did I chose that stupid piece of cr?p. You can't even play online. Now that I got an Hp pc I bought the game halo, and it was awsome. Then the baning came up. I was playing halo and lost connection to a game, well since I have a trojan virus on my computer it mest it up good. Well since we have a best buy service plan they fixed it and gave us a brand new 350 GB hardrive. For the first time when I put my computer back together I went to this website and made an acount. Then when I was serching for forums I put cheating as a joke cause I thought there was no way you could actualy cheat online, and so I saw. I was supriced someone could actualy get banned from online play. _____________________________________________________________ _______________ So now I have just one question. How the h?ll can you modd an xbox and in what way can you modd it? Also what is all this about modding and cheating. If you can please respond to this mesage. Please Oh yeah, I am a mexican so if there is something wrong with my spelling just remember I am a mexican and not all mexicans can spell right. Oh yea and If any of you know about a -blam!- called madman on halo pc online multiplayer please kill and beat the crap out of him. Preaty please oh yeah my halo pc name is JOEL. I personally found the one written by the parent funny. I bet her son really did mod the Xbox and lied to her about it, most likely a technologically challenged individual, and she thought that her letter of disappointment would get Bungie to lift the ban. And the one that threatened taking legal action because Bungie violated his first amendment rights. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I couldn’t believe that he thought the first amendment protects him when participating in a private organization. I also thought it was funny that he thinks that the U.S. does not limit freedom of speech and if they did the "world will fall apart."

XD Oh god. I love the Waaambulance stuff to death. If you can mod a highly complex game system AND a video game for that console, why in the holy name of Master Chief can't you type? Especially in a "please unban me!" email to Bungie.

The reason being is that I [i]just[/i] turned 13 and I can type around 75-80 wpm, but this guy's spelling and grammar is ridiculous I would say it would be typical spelling for a 7 year old (no offense to the horrible speller but its the truth). I love how many people send emails acting like they know how networking works and use a couple of technical terms thinking they might out smart a bungie engineer. I.E. Terms they think they understand: IP address Networking theory they think they understand: IP address and DHCP servers

The part in the update where Frankie said that they would be accepting gametypes from the fans made me really excited because I'm an avid gametype creator. The update just doesn't make it clear how we can submit gametypes. If I'm confused in some way please explain.

I believe it's only temporary... 7 days is common for a feedback ban... if theres a considerable amount of cheating and more offensive feedback... I believe it can be made longer and quite possibly permanant. but the permanant bans i believe so far from what I've seen and heard is mostly from cheating and Bungies "switchboard lighting up" is what gets your account permanantly banned. note : it is only the account that is banned. therefore these kids are not exactly permanantly banned as Frankie pointed out.... all you need to do is "buy" another account(which i find repulsive). this tells me they are not banning anything other than the account. In my opinion, the xbox should be banned according to IP, or the modem should not be able to connect them to live. but we all know this will NEVER happen. therefore these permanant bans are meaningless in the eyes of many honest players. If they banned the xbox.... guess what... they can't get another $50.00 bucks off that box for live..... Oh wait maybe i'm onto something now. Ban the Xbox....then the player has to "Buy" a new xbox as well as the player has to "buy" a new account. Now that in my opinion is marketing brilliance. Please read my sig.

Thats why I think SuperJumping is not cheating, because Bungie built it into the maps on purpose. Maybe they expected people to SuperJump to their advantage. And anyways, you can do it to others too. So, SuperJumping should stay. :-)

I don't think that Bungie should get rid of SuperJumping. Its really fun to do. However I don't do it in many matchmaking games (I really only do the SuperJump on the defensive base on Zanzibar in matchmaking, usually unranked anyways). But, if you think of ways to take down the people who SuperJump, it'll just make you better. Also, I think I remember reading somewhere on what Bungie calls cheating and they said that SuperJumps are built into the map anyways. But, oh well. It does get pretty cheap at times.

I you play altered halo maps in [b]single player[/b], do you still get banned? Of course, this is supposing you are not connected to your Xbox live account while playing those maps, but can Bungie detect the modded files in your Xbox and ban your account or IP adress forever?

Well, I don't know, I might get banned from these forums from writing so much at 12:00. But cheaters, you suck. And listen to this. I used to LOVE matchmaking. I would go through it really fast. I can beat a level 40, which is pretty good. But because of cheaters and de-levelers, I stopped. And you know what? That's how everyone STARTS modding. Others ruin the game. You don't do matchmaking anymore because of them. So you say, what the heck, I don't play matchmaking anymore, and start modding. And then you regret it. Now people laugh at my level. I'm a level 20. If I played with no cheaters, I could've easily been above 30. So hey, why ruin the fun? When you start modding, you don't ruin it only for the players you play against / with. You ruin it for EVERYONE. Now I'm done with posts today. I might not go on again for a while... adios, reader.

And how does it create an unfair advantage? It takes up time, and usually people super-jump to high places that you can only use a sniper or battle / carbine rifle to kill from up there. While you are trying to super-jump, you may get killed also. And you can always get killed from the bottom of the map, too. So I disagree with you, Crazy Wingman.

If I was a betting man, I would say, I bet there wont be anymore waambulance crap in next weeks report. Bungies been asked some big questions this week, and nobodies ponyed up to answer any of them, not even Franky. I read somewhere at some tech site on level design an artical Shishka wrote helping out some people with tech stuff. Im sure it was there he said that people ask him what people are saying and what feedback Bungie is getting back in the forums. Well someone better give the people at Bungie [i]this[/i] feed back, [b]we dont want to read about the few people you have cault cheeting in the weekly report, we want real info, and want to hear how you plan to make it better. [/b] So seen as nobody there has the nuts to answer my, or anyone elses questions, why dont you just work on what were paying you to do, and thats making Halo 3, not making fun of the few cheeters you have cault. As someone else already said, your just making the problem worse.
