Halo 4 - new weapons system?

I know it might seem like a small thing to notice, but did anyone else see chief put an extension on his magnum at the end of the video?
Could this maybe mean Halo 4 will have a customizable weapons system?

I suppose that's possible. A simpler explanation would be that the weapon he uses is not a magnum but some sort of grenade pistol. It looks quite different from the other magnums shown in the teaser.

I that "magnum" may be an explosive weapon, and where did that silencer come from?

Thats what I was referring too. He shot it normally earlier when he picked it up, then puts what looks like a silencer on it, although it could easily be some other futuristic weapon extension all the same.

No, it shot a sort of grenade when he first used it. I imagine its just a grenade attatchment to turn the gun into a grenade launcher.

It fired a grenade that hit the door and blew up. I think the thing he put on the end of the barrel was another grenade, possibly a different type. In fact, it kind of looked like the business end of the Bubble Shield.

I have two theories. Either we get a new weapon that looks almost the same as the Magnum but shoots grenades or it was just like an engineer device in cases like in the trailer where he used it to clear the path. And the silencer, we didn't really see if it was a sillencer or a grenade (maybe he reloaded). Why did he reload (because one guy asked), well, maybe he was just getting ready.

Think of the RPG-7.

Um...I think it's just a grenade launcher since having a grenade launcher attachment on a pistol isnt wise..especially when you pull the trigger :O [Edited on 06.07.2011 2:40 PM PDT]

I don't think it's a Magnum at all, and it's definitely not a silencer he put on it. Some new explosives weapon.
