Credit Resets - 5/24/2011
Good afternoon,
We have executed a round of Credit Resets with a temporary Credit Ban for accounts which have habitually exhibited idling or "AFK" behavior while playing in Firefight Matchmaking. We'll be keeping a close eye on all of the accounts which we have taken action against. Further action will be taken if necessary, up to or including a temporary or permanent Matchmaking Ban.
When you idle or "AFK" frequently you're causing a negative impact on the enjoyment and integrity of the game for other players. Anytime you are in a Matchmaking session of Halo: Reach you are expected to be actively playing the game, we award you Credits in good faith and trust that you are earning them. Violating that trust by earning Credits that you don't deserve and negatively impacting the experience of other players will result in the removal of Credits.
Furthermore, using network manipulation to splinter a matchmaking session so you can benefit from games intended for groups of players is not acceptable. When you do this you deprive the other players in your session of a teammate and you degrade their online experience. We have provided a single player Firefight playlist called Score Attack which you can use if you wish to play alone.
[b]Regarding Disputes[/b]
A separate thread will be created and monitored for as long as we believe necessary. If you believe your ban was a false positive, you can post a request for investigation. Only use this thread and request an investigation if you are absolutely sure that your ban was a false positive, if we take the time to investigate your account and find that you do have idling or "AFK" behavior, we will place an extended Credit Ban on your account.

I had not touched my Halo Reach for 2 weeks and then when I put it in to play im banned from earning credits and have been dropped to the beginning rank. I am upset about this happening and would like more information on challenging this action taken against me.

Dear Bungie, I have been falsely banned. My cousin was iddle in multiple games in a row because I was working on household chores. My little 10 year old cousin was there so I agreed to let him play. In about a 30 min period I steped in the room to find xbox unacompanied by my little cousin. It read that I was removed from the party. I then walked around the house to find that my cousin had lost total interest in the xbox so I told him next time to inform me and to shut the xbox off. I walk back to the room to shut it off, my cousin did not like the idea of shutting it off so I put it on team objective for him. I left again to return to my room which was not occompanied by little my cousin. This time I also took notice that the screen said [This accout has been temporarily banned from earning Credits http://www.bungie.net/banned] I was furious with my cousin. I do not have a record of being AFK or iddle. I have been banned once. I realised, after reading what people responded to Forum, that its not Bungie's fault or Microsoft's fault that I was banned and that I am in control of what happens on my account, that it is my reasponsibility what happens on my account. All I am asking for is a second chance. Thank you, I apreciate you taking the time to investigate. [Edited on 06.22.2011 8:56 PM PDT]

Lol people act like they were gone for an hour doing chores or going to the store and they Afked the whole time but do they forget that you're automatically put back in the matchmaking lobby if your Afk? So any afking more than one game in a row is obviously intentional.

Whether you meant it or not you afked, you can ask Bungie if you want but you have a large amount of offences and I would place money on them keeping the ban.

Your first line was that you idled in multiple games and then your cousin did the same. That is why you were banned.

Did you leave a lot of games? They ban players who leave a lot of games.

What if had to do something else. As an example: You're in the game lobby with all the players waiting for the match to start. You notice there's a fire in your kitchen. You don't want to leave the game, because you don't want to lose your chances of getting jackpots. I've seen idle players before, and I agree it's annoying. But I was guessing they were doing else that was more important. I sometimes go idle to doing something else that was more important, but I get back on it and "finish the fight." EDIT: Left 4 Dead has a "take a break" button which lets you do something else while an AI controles you. they should have that on Halo Reach, but don't give credits for every minute they are idle. What "integrity" of yours? And "hiding for Commendations" is no different from "hiding for credits": You're still HIDING and not playing for most of the game!

What about spawn killing in grifball are you guys going to do any thing about that. I am tired of people hammering the hell out of me when ever I spawn and their is nothing that I can do. It really gets annoying that they can say they are so good when you don'y get to defend your self. When they get set up to spawn kill you maybe have half a second to swing your hammer even then your chance of getting out and killing them is slim
