• Actually I don't think there is a weapon called a Jackhammer? But there is a really big ass subwoofer thats called a Jackhammer...now those are cool! But I would have to say my favorite real weapon would have to be the 12 gauge shotgun.

 •
Posted by: cup o joe THE JACKAHMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was a fully automatic shotgun intended for military use named the jackhammer, but it proved too unreliable, combersome and hard to reload for it to be practical. I believe that there were between 7-12 prototypes made. There is also a class III russian-made short-barreled shotgun that is fed using 5 or 10 round magazines called the Ivan jackhammer. It is also very uncommon, but can be found at about $350-$450 U.S.

 • The pointy stick. Now before you pointy-stick nay-sayers go off at me here, lemme explain. The pointy stick can be used for more than just a weapon! It's an overall survival tool. It can be burned for heat/cooking/smoke signals, to hold/carry things, draw maps in dirt, it can be used a multiple number of times, you can get it in any size you want, cheap, easy to make/get, doesn't require much maintenence(outside of resharpenings, but that isn't tough), you can set traps with it, and if you add a bendy stick and some string, you can LAUNCH pointy sticks. Face it, the pointy stick is a versatile, resourceful, and easy piece of equipment! [Edited on 2/28/2006]

 • For practical purposes? The Glock 20 in 10mm Auto. If I had the money? A Mark XIX Desert Eagle in .357 Magnum. And Shorin-Ryu Karate when those fail.

 •
Posted by: Grunts_Prey Desert Eagle's suck. get one grain of sand in the barrel and its jammed
What you must remember is that the Desert Eagle is incredibly over-hyped, but it is still a mechanical system and thus is as capable of malfunctioning as any other mechanical system. It's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Yes, it'll jam if you push up on the magazine or hold it loosely when firing, but it does work pretty well for what it is. It's a hunting and target shooting gun. Only in Hollywood will you see it on a battlefield. Having said that, I love it for what it is and take pride in the fact that they were once manufactured in my home state. IRT Banshee Barron: there's also a civvie model, you know. [Edited on 2/28/2006]
