If the Ahamkara possess strange powers and are incredibly powerful, why not make a raid boss out of one? It wouldn't fit into the major races, and would be interesting. It makes sense that a method as absurd as the one employed during the oryx fight would be required. Imagine guardians running around in legendary gear forged from Ahamkara skeletons. Imagine a quest line to imbue the bones with the same capabilities as the exotics. It seems interesting, right?
Edit: Imagine. You scan a dead ghost. Its black box protocol (assuming it has one) activates. Last 30 seconds of audio. "THE AHAMKARA! THEY'RE STILL ALIVE. THEY'RE STILL ALI-(static)-NO! NO!(cuts out)"
Ghost: "we have to report this to Zavala. Something needs to be done."
Guardian: "agreed"
Ghost: "the vanguard won't believe this. According to data collected from the ghost, a full fireteam was completely wiped out... And not far from here. We need to go"
A roar is heard in the distance.
Ghost: "NOW"
The ship is seen picking up the guardian and the ghost, and a large shadow is seen, the creature making it just offscreen.

OP is a genius
-
An amazing idea man, just lore conflicting part but, if bungie adds more grimore about them then hopefully it becomes an actual raid.
-
Raid: Dragon's Den "An ancient foe awakens." Epic idea dude.
-
year 3 they will have a dragon boss, until next year guardians
-
You're so genius. I'd totally lead a fireteam against a group of ahamkara only to get mauled by them.

Edited by T1LLY_T1ME: 12/1/2015 11:00:57 PMThey aren't really bad though. Plus it's be only warlocks.
-
Id like to see the guardian that went to the dark side...
-
I have wanted an ahamkara hunt strike since day one! Glad I'm not the only one fascinated by them!

-
Cool, just the lore conflicting part
-
I like it, but isn't part of the lore that only warlocks can kill a fully grown ahamkara? How would they have a raid boss that only one in three characters can damage? Unless part of the story leading up to the raid is discovering ancient warlock secrets...
-
It's probably going to happen
-
Would be great to see a raid boss come out of the lore and not the same four tired enemy races. Even if it was just part of a raid I'd be happy. Bungie has such a fertile playing field and aren't using any of the lore in game. It's sad.
-
Big bump
-
They're all dead. The vanguards thought the temptation vs the risks were too great and ordered then great hunt, which killed all the ahamkara. Read the grimoire.
-
For those saying that the ahamkaras where killed off, read the first line of dialogue. They were thought to be but we have to report to the vanguard one still remains
-
Pretty sure the Cabal have one locked up as a prisoner.
-
Rumor has it xylar is just a Vex/ahamkara hybrid....
-
Bungie peaks in, copy, paste, select guardian dialogue, delete, print.
-
Picked op is a dumb ass, but it does sound like a good idea
-
If you read the grimore you would see that they are all dead.
-
How bought as a whole dlc lol
-
It would be a change for once. XD
-
Is there a "need for further content to introduce them before adding a raid boss?" And didn't we kill like all of them? Don't we just want knowledge while they just wanna chill?
-
One day
-
They want balance, they want both sides to be on the same field.
