No lie. I respect that he speaks his mind. Sure he can use better words to make you feel better, but it wasn't so bad to begin with.
Apparently a lot of you haven't experienced the real world.

Yupp he -blam!-ing kept it real. He said that the challenge mode will be new and challenging but we have been doing it since a long time so it is not a challenge.

People can't handle it now if they are not pandered too. And I mean people, not just kids. Sadly. Many adults feel this way also. This isn't an attack on political correctness, because that has its place. People mistake honesty and openness with rudeness. You do not need to have your feelings coddled all the time. We are supposed to be adults and able to delete reality. Unfortunately this is not the world we live in. Now, if the developers don't pacify and pander to their customers, people get their feelings hurt. And we can't have that.

xD'
if i fired up a video showing you the new dance emotes you will throw money at the screen

never forget

xD'
What is this all about this time?

Here's the thing: No one minds honesty, frankly I think that everyone likes it. BUT- If you don't want your customers to have too high expectations: STOP OVER HYPING YOUR PRODUCT. It's difficult to create good raids? Well, if you don't have a raid, or content equally (un)rewarding and challanging- what do you have to sell? What. Do. You. Have. To. Sell? Strikes? Boooring. Armor? Useless, unpersonal reskins. Weapons? Meh, you'll just nerf the good ones anyway. Bungie brought aaaaaall this shit on themselves. I have no sympathy for them. None, whatsoever. If they want less hate and more praise then maybe they should get their shit together and create REAL content. Innovative stuff that doesn't consist of last-minute time gates to water down the garbage they've been serving us since the release.

Well then, Luke Smith is the real life version of Dave Chappelles "when keeping it real goes wrong"
-
Bump :p

There's a difference between someone speaking bluntly and honestly about something, and a cocky asshole just saying whatever he wants to. Yeah, you can do that, it doesn't make you any less of a douche, though. "Our team isn't equipped to meet every demand of the community. We do the best we can" Has a lot better ring than "The community has lofty expectations" The first acknowledges that they can't do everything, but accepts accountability of what is created. The second addresses the idea that expectations aren't always met, but blames the people who consume and discuss the content most. I get that Luke doesn't really take time to understand words and all, but as a project lead I'd hope he'd have at least sound basic understanding of language and how to use it.
-
No one appreciates honesty any more. People need to be coddled nowadays.
-
Better to be real, rather than a shady piece of shit that nobody respects.
-
Well there is a fine line between speaking your mind and insulting your customers
-
"You want Destiny? Luke Smith *is* Destiny"

Everyone is just so sensitive. Their precious little snowflake butts get all hurt whenever some dude that they don't know says something they don't like. The bottom line is you either like the game or you don't. If you don't then move on to a more suitable game instead of throwing hissy fits on the forum. Luke Smith might be a raging asshole. Get over it. Assholes exist. If you came into my place of business bitching like people do on here. I'd suffer your shit with a smile for about three minutes before I told you to shut the -blam!- up and get the -blam!- out. If you stuck around to keep bitching I'd have you locked up for creating a public disturbance. You probably would never come back and I'd be fine with that because ten other customers would replace you. I'd say all the outraged people need to get over themselves and get over Luke Smith. Move on or shut up but, crying about it accomplishes precisely -blam!- all.

Edited by S3kretCrimsonGT: 12/1/2015 1:22:46 AMWhy do people dislike Luke Smith? Well let me paraphrase him to answer that. Why? Because -blam!- you that's why. You wanted to wear oryx's ass as a hat? Your expectations are too lofty. Now go throw some more money at the screen. Also I like sandwiches.

Edited by Redgrin Grumble: 12/1/2015 1:00:57 AMThis community getting on Luke Smith's case for running his mouth and saying dumb shit... That's kinda like the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it?
-
I don't respect his "ehh your problem, not mine" kind of attitude.
-
I see all the Desticles are out and about in the comment section below: >Game development is hard!!!! >Git Guud >STFU or leave...... To be honest, the real problem with this game is that there is a divide between the customer expectation arena and the hype of the game. On the physical hard ware side of things I think this is ultimately Destiny / Bungies biggest problem. T change anything now would be a logistical nightmare. To change it half way or a third of the way through is like trying to stop the domino effect from continuing...you wont ever catch that domino. It should have been different from day one. But we all know at a time lng before day one we had issues: Josef Statum. So all of this is no real surprise to me. Bungie is firefighting!!!!!!!!!! That's why these bad PR stinks come to light.

Luke smith is Donald trump with a micro transaction mask.

Edited by me2ez: 11/30/2015 7:02:08 PMLuke Smith is a tool and lacks the comprehension of making a great game better. He can sit there and say "oh, the communities request are too haaaarrrrd" And ill sit here and tell him i wont pay for any more Destiny content until MAYBE around year 5-6 when i can just buy it all for a fraction of the price and get the feeling of an actual new game with as minimal "cut content" as possible. I and many like me will save hundreds of dollars on recycled, refurbished and irresponsibly delivered game material, all the while saving hundreds of hours better spent on developers and creative thinkers who give a shit about the quality of a game over how much money it makes. DUH ITS A RISK, Bungie should learn to take risks more often.

There's a difference in "keeping it real" and running your mouth based on what the company is he works for has promised. Yes, the Destiny community is a toxic bunch of assholes, and have high expectations... but the problem is Bungie CREATED THAT!!!!! Between all the trailers, marketing, advertising and bullshit they stated 2 years ago (remember the clip of how all that terrain was explorable?), to what we got was a major difference. Then when people voiced their displeasure, we've been reminded that it was a 10 year plan. Now to Luke, it's became an issue that our expectations are too high. To which people can remind him, that promotional material for the Season 1 pass said a raid was included in the House of Wolves. So if he's going to bitch about player expectations, then the least he could do his check his own company's marketing materials to see they're not meeting their OWN promises and expectations. The community will always remain toxic, but he's flaming piece of human garbage for thinking our expectations are the problem.

Edited by Swiftlock: 11/30/2015 9:03:40 PMIn the real world, people are not wrong keeping their standards high for a 500 million dollar project. Not really sure what you're trying to say here.

I find your lack of intelligence disturbing.
