Weekly What's Update
A long one this week, but really we're just catching you up on where we are, what I'm thinking and some really good news about modding, cheating and so on.

please help with the modding. I believe that if you address it from an alternative standpoint, you may be able to end it for good. Honestly, once you address the mods out now, there will be more. That is they way things go, and if you can actually conceptually understand and address the issue, the answer will present itself. I hate warlock, 1 out of three times if your rank is above 23, you will get put into a game with mods. It makes me not want to play. The worst part about the mods is that people blame their loosing on them when the people arent modding. I think i yell at more kids telling them to shut their whiny mouths and that they werent just modded more thatn i yell about anything, and it is players on my team. No one likes to loose. Loosing due to cheating is terribly frustrating, but if you loose because you got your a** kicked, then right on. As for the bad language, a lot of the players are pubecent kids so either break your sense of humor down to the 7th grade level and turn what they say around into " yeah so's your mother" or turn your headset off or down, and quit complaining. So what about the mods, oh I have given a great deal of thought to this, and i have come up with a solution that will/ i repeat will actually work. Give the kids condoms. What I mean is give the mods a platform to play online. Let there be a modded option where they can go and play. Granted this condones it too a degree, but it will keep most of them out of the gaming for the rest of us. In the 30 + ranked games it is mod vs mod. So please getr rid of this for the rest of us. I is worse than you think. I corrpts the ranking system. A guy who (without Mods in the mix ) would be an a** kicker and probably mid 30's, is a 23 or 25 because the higher he advances without mods, the more he looses and is knocked back down. That means that me, who would proabably be a 25 or so (with out mods in the mix) gets beat down, looses a rank, and has to #1 hear the business from the others in my clan, and 2 play with players who are not a challenge, and unlike modded folk, I dont think that is fun. PLEASE!!! PLEASE !!! at least think about my solution . I know and you know if you use technology to fix the problem, it will re-surface even stronger like a mutant virus in a sci fi movie. So true, General Grudge. If theres anything I hate besides frickin modders, it's those who quit at the first sign of defeit. Your not going to win all the time, unless your a gutless modder, so take a loss now and then. But please don't abbandon the rest of your team and have them take on a greater loss. DON'T BE A QUITER!!!

well this is good that cheaters are getting screwed CAN I HEAR A BOHYA PEOPLE and i dont think action replay is cheating in custome games for like making movies because my clan used to make movies and are working on some now but they might ban u if u do it in matchmaking but ya good question id like to know to about action replay.

I do agree that modding can be fun but not to play Live with it.If u want to mode u should take it xbox live, where u dont have to pay to play. People pay good money to play Live. why should they have to deal with modders.

What's up Frankie, man I am glad to hear we won't have to deal with getting gunned down by a needler when my partner and I were using shotgun/sword - ME, plasma pistol + battle rifle him. We came around a corner on warlock and caught the Modder from behind, he shot him with the pistol and I the shot gun, as my partner starts laying into his visor. I flip to sword and slash only to turn around and see my bro drop, I charge again but am cut down by his almighty needler.... So no more down the stairwell in his chest rockets, 2 might I add and die from a bone cracker. I love what you are doing and sometimes play 6 hours straight with no food or pee breaks. I am only able to get on about once a week so my rating suck cuz my buddy hates to hear me say, shoot the enemy first then WE will find extra weapons. I hate Super Jumping very much as well. And even if Bungie doesn't "ban" because of it I still consider it cheating and never do it as a matter of principal and also give players on my team that try it a hard time because of it. I personally have some ideas to stop some of the most annoying things like Super jumping and quitters in matchmaking. Everytime a player excutes a super jump, either on purpose or even by "accident", that player needs to be sent to the guardians. Zanzibar is one of my all time favorite maps but it has been ruined for most games (esp assult) by the super jump. Still if somebody super jumped ontop with their rocket launcher and were suddenly killed by the guardians that would do the trick. I also think a matchmaking user should go down ONE LEVEL everytime they quit and leave a game early. Sure maybe some time there is call for it and maybe every once in a while it might be by accident, but such instances will happen so rare that the occasional "level down" wont hurt us much. Some of the kiddies that leave every time they don't like a matchmaking gametype or at the first sign of a possiable loss may very well be commited a bit more if they know leaving will cost them a whole level.

Hey there - I rarely write to these boards, but I'm a little fired up. I have seen this questions asked in some other posts I just read so I thought I'd chime in too b/c I haven't seen a response in any WEEKLY UPDATES. What is up with SUPER JUMPING? People keep doing it on me and yelling at me saying "it was put in the game on purpose -- it's not cheating." Bullcrap it's not cheating -- it gives one team an advantage, thus taking away from the concept of "fair play." It's ridiculous because people that aren't that good are then given the advantage and the door opens for them to proceed on with a win. Can you please let us know what is up with this and if the autoupdate will fix this? Thanks...

judgement day for modders? somehow i REALLY doubt that. Yes a few will get banned, but most of the smart ones wont get online till the modding community says what they are banning for. Beleive me, M$ has had many different mod "catching" methods b4, and all have become passable. Most ppl that play online, all actually, turn their chips off, because M$ can detect if its on. M$ would check to see if your hard drive was changed if you had a live account b4 u put a hard drive in if you modded, but thats why most ppl just upgrade, then get live. Now M$ and Bungie are goin to come up with some brilliant idea, like checking saves, and map files. Congrats, this will indeed stop the modders from cheating! And I am happy as everyone else. BUT this also will probably take out the "good" modders who haven't used ANY hacks/mods online, nor cheated. That being said, just move any hacked/modded save off the c drive, as well as any saves not from an official xbox game, and any dashboards. Blam, not banned, BUT no cheating could be possible. Now if they do the unthinkable and update your chip so it can read the F drive, and scan that for stuff, im sure there will be a class action lawsuit filed against the almighty monopoly for invasion of privacy, due to the fact that the hard drives are your property that you purchased seperately and put in. Either way, this is a scary time for modders, good or bad. Will this be for the good of M$ and Bungie? OR will this just make halo 2 online a little better? . Either way, i support both sides, modders and M$/Bungie. Just don't take away part of the fun from owners of modded xboxs just because some ppl cheat, take the cheat away from the cheaters, not the service away from the players. Either way, the only thing getting hurt here is the players, cheaters deserved to be punished, but its M$ who released games with soft mod capability, and it's also M$ who didn't protect their system enough. Also, Bungie should put in one of those lil did you know things on halo 2 loading screens that super bounce's are legal to do. ANYVAY, ALL HAIL BUNGIE, FOR THEY ARE MY GOD....oh wait....im athiest....
