Hammer of Sol

You can't be serious right? All the testing and patches that have gone through and this still hasn't been fixed? Let me break it down for you. Hunter: Golden Gun: no shield, ranged, 3-4 shots, must hit target to kill. Not a one hit kill on Hammer of Sol or Fist of Havoc. Shadowshot: slight shield, ranged 1-2 shots, must hit target to kill. Not a one hit kill on Hammer of Sol, Fist of Havoc, Arc Blade, Radiance, Stormtrance Arc Blade: 50% shield? (not sure on that percentage), many potential "shots", must hit target to kill, unless using razor's edge, heals upon kill with talent, Not a one hit kill on Hammer of Sol, Fist of Havoc, Arc Blade, Radiance, Stormtrance Warlock: Nova Bomb: slight shield, ranged, 1 shot, aoe. One hit kill on everything besides a defender titan in a bubble, who usually dies from the vortex anyway. Radiance: massive shield (especially with flame shield), ranged/melee supercharged, scorch is a one hit kill on anyone not using a super with a shield. Stormtrance: slight shield, ranged, many shots, takes 3 hits to kill someone not using a super. Good luck killing anyone using a super with a shield before they kill you. Titan: Fist of Havoc: massive shield, melee, 1 shot, aoe. One hit kill on everything besides another Fist of Havoc using titan. Not sure if it kills Hammer of Sol. Defender: massive shield, 1 shot, aoe. User can withstand a shotgun blast at melee range followed by 5 melee attacks and live, using armor of light. I couldn't believe it until it happened to me. Hammer of Sol: insane shield more than any other super, up to 8 shots, ranged, aoe, tracking, heals upon kill with talent, one hit kill on all supers except, titan using Fist of Havoc, Hammer of Sol, In case you can't see the difference here; Golden Gun has 3 shots, and no shield, while being a ranged super. Hammer of Sol has 8 shots, a massive shield, AND YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO HIT YOUR TARGET. Oh and it's ranged too. Arc Blade has, let's say up to 8 shots, a lesser shield, must hit target, AND IS MELEE. Radiance and Stormtrance stand no chance. Only way to fight Hammer is to use another Hammer, Fist of Havoc, Nova Bomb, or save your tether to cancel it, but again, the titan won't be dead. Best strategy is to run away. Looks like someone at Bungie plays Titan. For the record, I have a titan, a warlock, and a hunter. I've played all 3 classes at a high level of pvp and would not argue that hunters and warlocks are underpowered. In fact, I think this game is very, very close to being balanced once the upcoming patch goes through. Hammer of Sol is the lone problem, and it is a big one. Remove the shield entirely. Keep everything else, and it's still better than Golden Gun. At least you have a fighting chance against that super instead of watching it wipe your entire team. The link above shows several titans going on 5 kill streaks or more just due to Hammer of Sol alone. I rest my case. Edit: changed "pop" to "pvp"

  • If you are going to bash on a class/subclass, BASH ON YOUR OWN AS WELL! Stormtrance: Landfall, nuff said. SUPER RANGED. Nightstalker: Doesn't need much of a nerf, should change it to where in PvP it shouldn't tether. Golden Gun: Its already a balaced subclass(however it is highly annoying). Arc Blade: Shouldn't have as much of a melee lunge. Fist of Panic: If Landfall on Stormtrance can kill you from miles in the air, then so should FoH. Bubble: No nerf/buff needed. Nova Bomb: Balanced. Axion Bolt didn't get a grenade nerf. Radience: Balanced. Blink (I know this isn't a subclass but should be mentioned): People blink into my Hammers but don't die? Tf Bungie?

    • If they nerf HoS the whole class is gonna need a rework. As it stands that's all its got going for it. This is what I want in exchange for a nerf: The knock back on thermal vent needs to proc all the time I want an exotic that gives me the simmering flames node for free The DOT effect on all the melees and incindiary grenades needs to be doubled and last longer

    • I agree too. But while they are broken in pvp, their whole subclass is centered around their supers, thus making it the only really reliable way to get kills. Us hunters and warlocks have trip mines and shotgun ranged melees. Titans have firewall grenades and T-Rex arms. I am glad that they are getting nerfed a little but still think that they should be one of the strongest subclasses. What do you guys think?

      • Players like you are so quick to put the past behind you and forget about it all. Did you forget how trashy Titans were in Year 1 and how dominant Warlocks and Hunters were? Now all of a sudden Titans are relevant in the ONE THING that they're built for, which is armor, and all you kids are whining and whimpering for a nerf. Not to mention that our melees are still shit. That being said, if Bungie wants to nerf the HoS, then they should also nerf the melee range for Warlocks and Hunters and make them the same range as Titans. I think that's fair. Don't you?

          If you play in the crucible regularly, like I do and so many of you also do, then you really can't even argue against the fact that the Hammer of Sol is far more powerful than every other super in the game. Just because "Titans got owned in year 1" (which they didn't I decimated fools with my Titan year 1)doesn't mean it's okay for you all to have an absurdly unbalanced super in the crucible. I don't care if they keep it the same for Vanguard stuff but inside of the crucible it is insanely too powerful and even a blind man could see that.

        • I watched the video. One major flaw. All the players that were killed by the hammer were stupid enough to stay in a group. Any super is great when most of the players on the team are right next to each other. That last kill on the video where he randomly through it up and it landed was just luck.

        • You say HoS is a bad thing? It might be a little hard to kill one in crucible but they are the best to have during a raid. Every class has its own technique to master. Hunters are made for gorilla warfare and use intelligent tactics to over come opponents Warlocks are powerful at range and is a good support player for everyone around. Titans are strong for their armor but can't deal a lot of damage until their supers come along.

        • NERF everything okay? You shouldn't be able to sprint, is too op. Nerf every class to a slow walk. Melee attacks? OP AF. Nerf it to "pat in the back" option. No more melee attacks. Grenades? Too OP. Fix? Nerf them to be water ballons. Throw them to lightly moist your opponent. Done. Just nerf them. Supers?OP AF. All of em. Instead of supers just make our characters yell words of encouragement and compliments to our enemies on super activation. Ships are ok. Sparrows move way to fast.... Nerf the top speed 90% on all sparrows. Hey, safety first right? We don't want those fragile guardians getting hurt physically and/or emotionally. The raid? Too difficult. Give us the option to politely have a rational discussion with the warpriest, gold or other and the sisters... As far as oryx goes, he's suffered too much. Eliminate the oryx fight on the raid. Instead, your fireteam should apologize to him/her for killing his son. Too much violence is OP and needs to be nerfed. Anyway, the purpose of this post is too raise awareness of the general OP NESS currently present in Destiny. We need to unit and ask for more nerfs... I'm only one so I need your help. Post your ideas and/ or commebts below on what else needs to be nerfed. Thank you guardians. And as always... NERF ON!

          • Dont entirely remove the shield but drop it to 50% to match other supers cut hammer damage in half PVE too in both pve and pvp hammer of sol does a celestial nighthawk plus a regular golden him shot of damage for pve and pvp it shuts down supers in one shot.With this sol will still NARROWLY edge out GG but take more time cauterize shouldn't effect hammers in pvp, OR be switched with sun charge. The second one is better because it BOOSTS titans neutral game which they complain about because if titans hold on to their now not god tier but strong super to use of right in the mean time they get rapid grenades and melee(simmering flames) that heal(cauterize) and then can pop their super on a zone have one less hammer but still be super strong.Lastly the natural time should be brought down from 27 to 22 to add urgency to the super

          • you have to be joking about stormcaller that super has a good shield and can stand toe to toe with a sunbraker, there has been many a time iv hit a Stormcaller in the face with a hammer and they have lived and ripped my titan to bits while in my super

            • Yep hammer is broken extremely badly. It's a no skill free kill. And yes I run a titan. And will admit it's broken.the damage resist is too high the range is too high the duration is too high. They need to fix one of those 3 and it will be fine but only one. It's a good super overall but shouldn't be God mode. And anyone who says blade dancing was king year one... you are an idiot blade dancers die so easily mainly with a mediocre shotty to the face. Blade dance was a powerful super and as such was frail. So should the hammer but it's not

            • Golden Gun has no shield because its a ranged one shot gun, GG is one shot to ALL subclasses. The only time GG wasn't one shot was the radience with max armor and The Ram issue.

              • HoS gets 55% reduction compared to 50% on bladedancer. That's not a "insane shield", it gets 7 hammers at max and that's if you spam constantly, usually only 4-5. The tracking is pretty shit it's not like rocket luncher tracking, it will make a slight turn before impact. Lastly, it will not 1 hit every super...
