Because people just like to complain about anything and everything. If all of you think this game is so half assed, go play the better one.... oh wait.

I blame helicopter parents. Kids are traumatized to learn that life isn't instant gratification followed by cookies and a nap, and they can't cope.

These forums are pretty salty. Bungie can never do anything right in there eyes. Everything they've done with this game has improved it and made it a better game. Some are never happy! Also why these people complain so much and still play baffles me?

People don't really like to admit that they may have over hyped the game. That, and the player base for most gaming communities feel entitled to some form of control. Most companies will make their consumer base feel special, but Bungie didn't, and that's what people didn't like. Let's take the Magic: the Gathering trading card game player base (I realize I'm comparing apples to oranges, but the principal is still the same) for example. The game has almost 13,000 different card games spanning back from 1993 with the games conception, but only about 3,000 are played at any given time. Those 3,000 cards fall into the meta game category, and these are the cards that skyrocket in value. Why is this similar? Look at the most used weapons since Destiny's release, most importantly, the span of time we had between House of Wolves and The Taken King. We only had a handful of guns that were being used out of the lot we were given. We had Thorn, TLW, The Messenger, Y1 Hawkmoon for PS players, we had the felwinter's lie, Party Crasher +1, Matador 64, the new monarchy shot gun, snipers were really up to the player, but most used the LDR 5001 variant. Then, we had rockets with Grenades and Horseshoes with tripod, hoping to get Javelin and Hard launch, which fell to either Tomorrow's answer, Radeghast's Fury, or Ash Factory. In PvE, we had fatebringer, black hammer and Gjallarhorn, with Ice Breaker as a substitute for Gjallarhorn if you didn't have it, and neither meant you didn't get into any of the PvE end game. RNG was one of the things that worked against us, and, in a way, was a raid boss in and of itself. With all of the players searching for these weapons, meaning three nightfalls, 6 hard mode raids, 9 prison of elders 32, 34, and 35 runs, plus any additional 28 runs and pack of wolves encounters to get the treasure keys a week, plus 3 weeklies if you want to buy something from Xûr with the risk of being verbally castrated by the community on the week. RNG was widely considered to be a big "[b]fu[/b]ck you" by Bungie to their player base. All of this considered, you also have a lack of communication we get a weekly update, and sometimes members of the community get a shout out by bungie for being what they are, but their forum presence is significantly less than their twitter presence, which is totally ass backwards. It's not [b][i]JUST[/i][/b] bungie's fault, though. A significant portion of the problem also comes from the player base. The nerfs come on the heels of the few and loud, as opposed to the people who are staying quiet. And the few are much louder because this is the player base that left CoD's PvP and wanted to be good here, too. Then we have the people who flat out can't adapt. These are the people who complain about Bungie taking weapons away, complain about the nerfs that these people never spoke up about, anything and everything that deals with the way these people play. People just don't get it that. How is a developer supposed to react when people do nothing but compare destiny to Halo and complain about not being good in every situation imaginable.

There will always be people that expect more, and when their expectations don't get met, then they get disappointed which leads to resentment,anger, and salt. It's the closed minded people with a general sense of "entitlement". I for one can say that this game has brought me more fun than any other game out there.
