Exotic weapons... what happened?

Before I begin, yes this is a rant of sorts so if you don't usually like people's opinions or you are a die hard for Destiny... please go back to browsing threads. With that out of the way: What happened? To start off with, the Exotic gunsmith quests: these are a pretty mixed bag. Ranging from easy to difficult to grind your ass off and wait (looking at you First Curse). I, and most of the community, agree that most of the new exotic weapons from the quests are a bit lack-luster. The class exotics for instance, the Fabian Strategy behaves almost like any other auto rifle and same goes with the Ace of Spades. The Tlaloc on the other hand is a bit more unique however, it has to meet a requirement for it's exotic perk to even ACTIVATE. Aside from that, the First Curse was over-hyped and people probably shouldn't have been disappointed in the first place if the looked at the stats in the armory. Seriously, it's a very high impact and very low rate of fire hand cannon and even though the stats say it should be able to two shot, the people who were fond of Timur's Lash and Ill Will know better. Back on topic, the weapon would be fine if the exotic perk was actually useful. Moving on, we have the time gated quests. We have the Sleeper Stimulant and No Time to Explain. The Sleeper was one of the most sought after weapons but the quest for it was rather... meh. The weapon itself is a beast to behold and was unfortunately given the title of the Year 2 Gjallarhorn. And let's be honest, do you want another crutch weapon that made encounters fast but boring. The answer is no. No. Then we have No Time to Explain. I have No Time to Explain what happened here (okay, the line to punch me starts here). In all seriousness though, the weapon is rather lackluster. Maybe a buff to the weapon's base stats would've been nice or at least make the weapon look more exotic, maybe make it look like the Fate of All Fools (seriously the thing looks like someone shoved it up Crota's ascendant ass and it came out stained greyish-green). The exotic perk is okay in my opinion, it's an improved White Nail if you manage to hit all your shots, if you do in PvP *bows down*. The last ting I want to touch up on is that we were shown that weapon would be Arc damage. Where'd that go? Maybe a prototype for the Supercell but oh well. The Touch of Malice is a great weapon for PvE from what I've seen. My only beef with this thing: why are you able to get this in the DEFAULT difficulty of the raid?! The quest for the thing seems pretty intimidating to people who may have not done the raid (myself included) but would Bungie at least release a 320/330 Attack version of the weapon for the Hard mode? In that aspect, the only real reason to do Hard Mode King's Fall is to push for 320 light. Speaking of Hard King's Fall, why did they leave behind elemental primaries? Yes, it did limit loadout options but now we're stuck with hunting down the Zhalo Supercell for an elemental damage primary weapon, the only Year 2 elemental primary in the entire game!. That in itself has its downsides: 1) it takes up your exotic slot. 2) it is an auto rifle, one of the least used primary classes in PvE thanks to all the balancing 3) we have no direct source on how to obtain the damn thing besides grind our asses off and hope we get lucky (praised be RNGesus!). This'll be the last one, I promise (and sorry, I could go on and on and... you get the point). Why did Bungie buff Year 1 exotic weapons only to leave them in the dust? Case and point: Necrochasm. The weapon finally got it's desperately needed recognition and Bungie gives it the middle finger and is now letting the weapon we worked so hard to raise and obtain to rot in our vault. Although I'm pretty sure that means that it may make a Year 2 appearance sometime in the future (God, what I would do for a Year 2 Mythoclast >_<). While we're on the topic of Crota's End weapons, Black Spindle. When news first surface of this weapon being discovered it surprised the hell out of me, a Year 1 fan favorite making a triumphant return into Year 2 with some sweet-ass upgrades. Unfortunately, this weapon suffers the same curse as Zhalo, it isn't always for every situation and takes up the exotic slot. And finally, where are my Solar and Void Thunderlords?! ;-; Welp, if you read the entire thing congratulations! :D Thanks for listening to (or reading) me bitch and moan but Destiny: the Taken King has had a great start and I can't wait to see where it goes from here! Feel free to post your opinions about the Taken King's exotics as well! Catch you later, Guardian.
