OP and half the people that replied in this thread have played more than 100 hours in a timespan of 6 weeks. The vast majority of people that take time to post on here play this game way too -blam!-ing much. The OP is the normal end result. ''It just ain't that good''. This leads to these kinds of feelings. Anyone EVER that does something too much, too often will get tired of whatever it is they're abusing. I find it frankly comical that some people can end up in this kind of place, where 100+ hours devoted to a VIDEOGAME EXPANSION can feel empty, as if the way there wasn't THAT enjoyable and as if the way it was before was somehow better, progression-wise (when it objectively isn't). If that's where you're at, OP and others, take a few steps back. Stop playing for a few days. Legendary marks don't matter in the grand scheme of things. You're at that normal junction that all MMO's lead to. Moderation is key.

  • ...He said about a game that gives incentives for you to come back and play every single day. "Play this game as much as you can"-Bungie Marketing "We are going to implement systems that will slow you down and distract you from how little content we actually put into the game"-Bungie Devs "I played the game a lot and I am frustrated that there doesn't seem to be a lot of content, but most of it seems to be built to punish me for playing."-OP "Why are you playing a game you bought?" -BarnaqueDusty

  • Hurray for common sense. Sometimes i think it's just me but i still love TTK and can't yet see the issues. I leveled one character and completed almost all the quests for him (I got one of each). I just got my 44th calcified fragment today. It doesn't feel too grindy, I pick up 295 blues sometimes in COO (good for easy leveling other characters stuff). I've done the raid one time. I play around two hours weeknights, most nights. Weekend is "Raid nights" I always play with randoms and have had lots of fun failing miserably! If i play on Sunday that's my 'houskeeping' day; Level up gear with bounties, pick up Hadium flakes, Hunt ghosts that kind of stuff. I also randomly do crucible with a 0.8 K/D for fun, I know! FUN. For me it never really gets old, and to be honest it's sometimes more enjoyable to fail with a chilled team, than win with a fast militant team. If i do get 'bored' I read a book. I'm a weirdo i know, I still read books. Shame on me. Actual books, not Kindle.

  • Couldn't agree more with this, if you play nonstop then of course you're gonna finish everything quickly and hit a wall. I'm only on 39 calcified fragments so far, if I play for an hour or so after work then I'll try get another, just taking it a bit at a time

  • I played the same, or more, hours of Borderlands 1 and 2. They did not get old as fast.

  • So did I. You still re-do the same content over and over to attain higher levels. That isn't terribly different than Destiny. I would argue Borderlands uses the old mind-trickery of upping the level cap without offering much new content. Most Borderlands expansions were downright laughably bad except the last one for each game. The grind was quite the same, with the end result being boredom.

  • Not for me ... a lot more weapons .... seemed like more variety in builds .... funnier story ... simply a lot better, at least for me.

  • Fair point, well made. But you miss the point. For the most part this is not burnout.

  • Looks like it from where I'm sitting. Thing is, this is how MMO's HAVE to operate. Imagine you getting everything you want and everything infused to 307 this early... it wouldn't work. Bungie wants us to keep playing endlessly. In any MMO ever, after you progress to a certain point with all your characters, you hit quite a brick wall and the time required to make significant progress augments exponentially. Take a look at my 3 chars; I'm EXACTLY at that point, where all my toons get to about 294 effortlessly (for the record, all my good guns are in the vault right now - 298 Telesto, Red Death, Juju, the three purple swords all in the 290's). I'm a veteran of MMO's. This is how it always goes, I realized this very early and when I got to the point where you need to patrol a lot and progress slows down, at this point I fired up my other 2 toons and did it all over again. You can't realistically expect more from this kind of game, at the pace the content is being rolled out. Spending countless hours being at the mercy of other players' skill levels, being at risk of playing 3 hours+ and not getting ANYTHING back for your time spent has never been my cup o' tea, so I chose early to dial down on the playing time and I still found the taken war patrols fun. Moderation really is key. You really have to accept what kind of game this is. Progression HAS to get real grindy and repetitive, else you'd have god-tier players not even wanting to redo hard-mode King's Fall because they infused their fav guns very early on.
