Question for the people who own both a ps4 and xbone.

Is it worth it to have both consoles? .. i already have a ps4. But i really love the halo franchise.

  • I have both. With that said, I personally prefer ps4. It seems to have a more adult community for the most part. I feel like xbox is more a call of duty/halo console. There's not much more to it that is appealing to me. Just an opinion. Everyone feels differently though.

  • Basically everybody is saying yes. There's half that have both and play Xbox and half that play ps4. I personally play both just about the same

I have both but play the PS4 90% of the time because that's what all my friends play on. No fun playing on a console with no friends. Also keep in mind your annual cost of online gaming will double with both consoles.

I own both and a Wii U to boot although the latter is pretty much just an expensive paperweight right now. I've made more friends through my Xbox One than through my PS4 mainly because this most recent console launch, I stuck with Microsoft as I'd gotten in deep with them the previous last gen time. Xbox 360 came out a year before the competition remember so it made sense to me to stay with them. I also had a PS3 and a Wii but played mostly on Microsoft's system. I didn't get involved in online multiplayer until I got my One through Destiny, remaining single player on 360's entire lifespan. But back to your question; there really is no difference in between Xbox One and PS4. I just prefer my current choice as it really doesn't make sense to pay for two simultaneous online memberships. Money isn't an issue for me although there's no sense in me wasting my hard earned dough on something that isn't worth it's price. Each side has their own exclusive rights to this and that which I admit makes it tempting to indulge in both. In reality though I only plan on playing most entirely on my Xbox One and only playing certain PS4 exclusives for single player experiences. I have sampled certain Sony only titles now and before such as Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted and The Last of Us; all excellent games. If any online component Sony titles come out without any single stuff I'm going to have to pass on them. If you have a lot of buddies on your PS4 then it's best to stay with them. Halo is a great franchise in itself but if you're looking to connect through multiplayer, don't forget you'll have to fork over money for a Gold membership plus have to make all new friends as well. If moolah is not any issue then yeah you could smack down $350 for an Xbox One but it's a real question of is it worth it? Just for Halo I feel isn't worth it. Sure there's Crackdown 3, Scalebound, Recore, Fable Legends, Gears of War 4 all incoming although time is another thing to think of. Can you devote your free moments to two different systems? Give it some thought because once you buy it, you're essentially stuck with it.

    • I would say no. I don't really touch my ps4 ever. Get the one your friends play on more or has the exclusives you care about. Try them both see how you like the controller & software that was big for me. Also live vs psn & customer service. They are night and day & probably what fully put me over the edge.

    • I have both but play my Xbox 95% of the time. Definitely worth getting imo.

    • I'm on the same boat with this guy! I played Halo until reach and little bit of 4 but man I do miss those games

I've been asking myself this same question. There are a couple of games on xbone I would definitely snap up - forza 6 and rare replay specifically - but not many. I have to decide between getting an xbone just for some exclusives, or save my money and get PlayStation VR instead. I'm leaning to the VR system at the moment as I just don't see even the xbone exclusives being significantly different to ps4 exclusives in the same way that VR offers something genuinely unique. Of course in a perfect world I'd have all systems, but more than money I simply no longer have the time for that... What do you think of PlayStation VR compared to getting a very similar console? Edit: oh, and I'm put off by the requirement to buy two subscription services too.

        • In the end game just look at the games you really want. I'm gonna be buying both consoles in the next year because of the exclusives. I think it'll be worth it xD
