If rare emotes cost $1 and legendaries cost $3, i would've spent $20 by now. Instead I've spent nothing, because i just can't justify these crazy prices.
I really really want the thriller dance, but $7 it's just too damned much, if it were $3, yes, in an instant, but not $7!
EDIT: i made my decision not to purchase silver immediately after buying dlc for rocket league and seeing what money gets you in that game compared to destiny.
For $4 you get 2 new cars, rocket trails, tire sets. 3 new paint styles and a dozen other cosmetic additions.
Also, for $2 you can drive the delorian from back to the future, special effects and sounds and all.

Dear god no I didn't earn my money just to shit it down the toilet
-
Yeah its pricey to be sure. They pulled an Obama. Just like he forgot to put affordable in the Affordable Care Act, Bungie forgot to put the Micro in Microtransactions.
-
Hell no. Unless that emote let's me bend over and fire a barrage of head seeking cluster-blam!- rockets right out of my -blam!-ing butthole, no cool down.
-
Man u can get dlc for $5-$10 on most other games lol
-
The carlton and thriller were a must for me. That's all I'll buy though.
-
I bought the thriller dance, then gave a friend a gift card so he could buy the dance. Why do you care how I spend the money I earned?
-
Not for real money
-
I don't have money to spend. Already spent about $200+ on this game not spending any more.
-
If I could have kept more than 2 masks without paying and the dances were $3 maybe $5 I may have gotten some. But as it is I'm just kinda bitter. I got the skull I wanted. No reason to continue with the event now. Upside court of oryx got a little revival to finish my antiquated runes
-
Why discourage others to pay? If that would lead to cheaper dlcs or maybe free content in the future.
-
Wouldn't pay 1 dollar for them after what they did with locking content
-
I would have been squarely in the no section....Until I saw the Zombie Dance. EPIC. I would gladly pay $10 for the dance. Maybe $20 if it actually played the Thriller music when your guy starts the dance.
-
These micro transactions are designed to make DLC free in the future. Blew a decent bit of cash on silver today and don't regret it at all. The emotes are cool, the masks are neat. May not be worth it to some but I see no problem spending cash for this stuff

It's funny ppl complain about anything anymore. Does anyone buying these hurt anyone else? Nope, there's nothing but looks and fun. Do I think it's overpriced? Yea a tad but I still bought most stuff because I can and its fun to me. Do you complain about ppl buying sports cars over smart cars spending and "wasting" more money? What about those ppl that have tipped a significant amount of money at a restaurant? What about those that spend 2-3x a mark up at amusement parks for souvenirs and food? Do u complain about spending money at a movie theatre ? Do you see where I'm going with this? A lot of people if not everyone spend money foolishly that doesn't necessarily benefit them but because they can and enjoy it. Unless it directly affects I suggest you just keep your opinions to yourself not because you're not allowed to voice but because it's dumb and you look like you're reaching just to find something to be negative over. Why not be positive and talk about how unique some emotes are and creative they got to pick certain ones... FYI I have a friend that can't afford much bought 1 emote and is happy for me that I got a bunch and even though I offered to buy some for them declined because they're happy with what they have and it's not a big deal. Think about it...is it worth your time complaining being negative over?

Edited by Silvurphlame: 10/27/2015 3:42:42 PMSo here's the thing. If you feel it's worth $7 then you buy it. If you feel it isn't (as I do) then you don't buy it (as I won't be). Simple. Unfortunately it's not like real life where you can try to get it cheaper at another store. It's priced at what Bungie feels the market will bear and that's pretty much it. Comparing it to other games and DLCs is ultimately pointless anyway. Every time I pass by Tess, I'm sorely tempted to buy the "Boo" emote. Because it's freaking hilarious. But then I think "how long or how often will I use this," and decide that, for me, it's not worth the money. So I go on without worrying or concerning myself with the price of purely optional, just-for-fun, doesn't impact 99% of the game, item. So much less angst that way. On the other hand if I could pay 200 Silver for a guaranteed Skull Mask I would, because that thing is great and I could easily keep it on during patrols and heroics and Crucible all while smacking stuff around with an Arc sword.

Who gives a shyt how people choose to spend their money. Can we go back to why weapons parts are scarce or why people act like douches if you don't have a ToM? How about why is you do the raid on hm and fight 4 bosses in the raid and yet not 1 exotic raid-only weapon drops?
-
I won't spend real money unless I know what that money goes to. If it gave us the hollowed thing then I will. If it goes towards everyone getting the dlc for free then I would.
-
I'd rather buy another game, worth about that much, on steam.
-
I went for "if I like it, i buy it, period" But I strongly believe that if prices were a little bit lower, a lot more people would buy them. $1 for 100 silver is okay. But Rare emotes should be available for 100 silver. Legendaries for 300. And more special ones like Thriller and Carlton dance for 500. I would have already got them all. Yet I haven't paid for a single silver as of today.

7 won't buy me coffee and a bagel ..
-
The carlton and thriller were a must for me. That's all I'll buy though.
-
I think people need to keep in mind several things in regards to the Triller emote. 1: It is a copyrighted dance, Bungie actually have to pay money just to have it in the game to begin with. 2: It is freaking long, That dance is longer than most of the emotes in Destiny. It is not just an extract from the Triller dance, it is the entire freaking dance.
-
I bought it, because I liked it. The thing is, value on cosmetic items is COMPLETELY subjective. This is why people need to stop complaining about cosmetic only items. If someone wants it, they can buy it. If you don't want it? Don't buy it. It doesn't change your own experience at all. The only people complaining about it still are those that want it, and are butthurt because they don't have the $$, or those that just hate the concept in general/want to see the game fail. News flash guys, if people didn't pay for these things, they wouldn't be made. People buy them, so they supply them.
-
No value. What will that $7 expense do for me? Not a damn thing.
-
I've put $160 into destiny and their trying to get me to pay for emotes. I find that a little offensive. I'm about done with this sorry excuse of a game.
-
The prices Bungie is charging is ridiculous, I'd rather spend the money on beer or donate it to charity.
