RNG Change That Could Benefit Everyone

So most of us have had a dig at or seen the new raid, its great, its well thought out, its mechanics are good, its a little easy when you have the correct light level and everyone understands everything, which could change if Bungie added a touch of random to each encounter each week. Thats not the point of this post, the point is this: Datto mentioned quite a bright idea, how about this, hypothetically you drop a warlock chest plate at 314 at Golgoroth, now if Bungie coded it in so the next time that player receives that same reward next time it drops, it cannot drop lower than 314, you will either get a 314 or higher light on that one item, sure its a lot of coding to add in but it won't break the current RNG system and give everyone 320 gear straight away, what it will do instead is give everyone the knowledge and the guarantee that you will eventually get to the max light level with the raid drops. It will remove the kick in the teeth of getting raid loot you already have at lower light level that you can at best use as infusion fuel. This is a side note but if they wanted to give us more of a chance of getting better gear, they could add in a reduction in chance for the last item you received, so that has a lower chance of dropping again for until 3 or 4 more drops have occured for you and the same for any other drops, then it resets for that specific item. However depending on how low they could lower the chance on that it would give some people the chance to get to max light much quicker, so maybe not too much of a drop in chance. What does everyone think? There is nothing worse than sitting through Oryx or any encounter for that matter for hours or whatever amount of time it takes to get that one run right, only to receive a reward you have either already got, or a reward that is of a lower light and no use to you except infusion fuel. Just to clear something up before it gets overexaggerated or whatever, this is NOT my idea, I do not claim credit for this idea, Datto was the one who thought this up, its such a good idea that Bungie just doesn't see, if this was implemented it would remove so much of the aggro off the playerbase which will also remove the aggro from the playerbase towards Bungie, everyone wins.

  • I like this idea of yours. I was a big fan of the infusion system until I figured out that the grind is actually worse than before. Not only do you need to get lucky to get the piece you need but you also need to be lucky enough for it to drop at a light level you can actually use. (And then I'm not even considering all the random perks that it can drop with that may be useful or useless depending on your playstyle.)
