I'm getting really sick of the garbage loot drops in King's Fall...
I'm fine with loot drops being rare-ish IF the gear is max light.
I'm fine with gear being below max light IF loot drops are common.
Having rare-ish drops for below max light is utterly stupid and I feel like quite a few people are getting completely discouraged from continuing to waste their time on the raid. It's almost completely -blam!-ing useless to get something that's 312 light. That's if you're LUCKY enough to get anything at all. On top of that, stats and perks are random so there's yet another layer of RNG. It's possible to get a 320 piece of armor that is not at all worthwhile because it has garbage stats (disc/str, auto/fusion ammo, arc armor chest for a Titan for example)
It feels like I'll still be 315 by the next DLC and then 320 will probably be the new 170... I really enjoy the game and want to continue playing but it is absolutely miserable grinding for basically nothing. I'm starting to feel like a sucker for continuing to try because obviously Bungie has made a conscious decision to stack the RNG deck against us (worse than ever before) to artificially increase play time.
How about a reply Cozmo? Let's improve this...
EDIT: I went from 308 to 310 on my main the first week of hard mode. I just finished a full run on my main and... went from 310 to... 310.
Sure, I could maybe be 311 or 312 if I sacrificed the two mediocre pieces on my other two characters, but it's still pretty shitty.

>do deathsingers > get 303 shotgun >do oryx > get 300 shotgun >?????
-
They want you to grind shitty loot rewards so that when you reach 315 you'll be just in time to be buying their new over priced DLC.
-
I got a 310 Harrowed doom from oryx. Seriously, a 310 from hard mode? Seriously?
-
It's a little lame that 310 gear can still drop on hard raid. It should be 311 AT LEAST. That way if you get the worst possible light, it'll still be a slight improvement over the normal raid gear.
-
On hard mode twice I've gotten a 310 harrowed chest piece. I've got 4 314 heavy machine guns. No secondaries what so ever. Loot system is painful.

I can be 315 right now. I have piles of raid gear. 2 of my raid buddies are 315/316. Seems fine to me but that final push to 319/320 is going to be a grind for sure.

Edited by AlTrio: 10/29/2015 5:06:44 AMI can't help but feel like they made the forever 29 grind so much worst. Instead of hoping for a single piece of gear we're now hoping for a single piece of gear, with a good defence value and a good roll. At least in VoG we knew what we were getting, it was just a matter of finding it. Personally, I'd like to see raid drops either be max light by default as it was in the other raids or make it so your raid drops are always above your current light level. A reroll system would also be nice, reroll it into a different raid roll with either hadium flakes or mouldering shards.
-
It's forever 29 all over again. For some reason I'm getting a sense of nostalgia and crippling fear
HELP
-
The loot drops should always be above your light, that would be perfect
-
I agree with op its total bs rng system in raid. Yea its ez to be sympathetic and say hang in there when your gear is over 310. Try being the ones who constantly get screwed.
-
At least you're 310. I'm pretty sure a lot of people, including myself, are still stuck below 305 and haven't been able to attempt KF HM yet.
-
My last three raids I've gotten two 304 ghosts and three 300 zaouli's bane...other than that shards. I still haven't made it over 305 light on any character :(
-
Why raid when you can patrol
-
Option for its fine

Let me take you back to Prison of Elders, everyone was 34 in a day and then people demanded 34 only for Poe, vog or crota and this seemed very dull to me. I think the grind is good, enjoy the game, have a laugh with your mates and maybe get that thing you've been after in a couple of months and don't sweat it!!! The raid is good fun, like vog. Be happy and do some basketball!!!
-
I sacrificed a goat to rngesus today and pulled a 320 helmet, 318 gloves, and 316 boots
-
Warpriest dropped nothing... Golgorth, nothing.
-
Yeah I've had enough of this crap. I'm out until further notice.
-
Theres something called infusion. So if you get a 314 or 315 armor or weapon that you like better, you can put the 320 armor or weapon into it and bam the better weapon or armor is 320. Also once you get high enough, it doesnt even matter. Damage dropoff is non existent. You'll do the same amount of damage as a 320 does in stuff like trials and iron banner
-
How do you think they get you to come back? Dumb ass desticles
-
Totally agree. Some people keep saying "only been out a week" and "instant gratification. They have no clue. The message is that IF a piece of raid gear drops it SHOULD be an upgrade over your current items. No one is begging to be level 320 on the first run. Small upgrades to weapon/armor are acceptable, but lower level is unacceptable. Fix the "smart loot" system that was shoved down our throats before launch.
-
Am I the only one that enjoys the fact that we aren't all going to be 320 in the first two weeks? How much less excited would you be if you knew exactly what you were going to get? I love getting 312 drops only to be surprised with a 319!
-
Well, I've beaten HM Oryx twice, and I'm 313... So its slow but not terrible.
-
Just spent 2 hours on oryx with a group of randoms... My loot : 310 ghost shell, 2 moldering shards. So worth it.
-
The power of the fusion rifle evades you I'd take a 320 body with increased fusion rifle ammo any day.
