Halo 5 reviews are coming in.
A lot of people hate the campaign yet think the multiplayer is the best since 2. Thats a sign of relief. Good to see og halo back.

3 RepliesCampaign was alright, but many characters seemed so stale. You obviously play as soldiers who do their jobs, don't joke around, etc. but there were no characters like Sgt Johnson, Cpt Keyes, or Prophets in the story. Meaning none that have interesting character traits and/or motives and background.

Honestly, too many people look through Nostalgia tinted glasses. Personally I've never liked Halo as I played the first two games and thought they were garbage (I still do btw), however since the XBO is the first Xbox I've owned (I've played the games with friends when they first came out) I decided to get the MCC and since I bought the Halo 5 XBO (it's very aesthetically pleasing) I got Halo 5 with it. I played through the campaigns of 1-4 before delving. Into 5 (which I haven't completed just yet) and I can say that the last 2 games are honestly the best as far as campaign is concerned. It's time to take off the nostalgia goggles people.

Sooo...what happens? Does Chief die? does Locke die? what happens at the end? I heard the campaign was short...and 75% of the forums says it sucks ass while the rest say it's pretty good.

I'm enjoying the campaihn. Only 2 missions in but multiplayer is pretty enjoyable

I'll let you know in a few days when I complete the campaign. I don't trust a lot of reviews. Some don't know enough about the lore, some know way too much and won't like the direction it's going. I'm just going to play it and see if I like it. If the gameplay is great and I can follow the story, I'll probably be pleased.

7 RepliesI heard the bad stuff on the campaign was just that it requires knowledge outside of just the games which I have. Either way, other Halo titles have had their campaigns bashed and I still enjoyed it. So I'm optimistic.

It has a story. That's a big improvement over destiny in my book. Also some of the best multiplayer around. Already downloading it.

I'm seeing an average just about 8/10. Primarily because most people are going off the 5 star system.

I can deal with a less than stellar plot if they are moving the pieces into place for a big finish with six. Remember how everyone hated the ending to 2? I look back on it now as one of my favorite campaigns because I know how everything played out. I'm cautiously optimistic that this is again the case. That being said I can't wait to rip into the MP.

From what I've heard, knowing why Blue team knows eachother from the books makes the plot less confusing

One review that Locke is just a guy who follows orders. God, I hope he has something more to him. He really had a personality in Nightfall. He was his own person. I hope that shows in the game too ._. His leadership, his morals. He wasn't just some emotionless hardass in Nightfall.

As expected. 343 =/= Good story. Forums are very biased though, so you can't really get an honest review around here.

5 RepliesYeah a lot of reviewer's hate the campaigns story. The multiplayer is more important than the story though, this will be the most important factor in review scores. Is it fresh or stale?
