This is what Destiny Needs

Dear Bungie, I along with the rest of the community enjoy your game very much. We care about this game, and so we get very upset when bad things start to happen to it. I for one, have defended Destiny for a very long time. I don't want to see it crumple up and die. With that said, I am here now, not to defend your decisions, but to offer some new ones that could ultimately help you in the end. If you want your game to keep its fan base satisfied, I recommend you read this or at least take this into consideration. Infusion Alright so first things first, infusion is Great and I think it's the sweet spot for leveling up gear in this game. Here's what I think you should add. Weapons and armor will increase light very slowly over time by killing enemies and gaining XP. That way, no one will ever be stuck at 219. Now, would this result in more grind? Probably. Another way of going about this using some material...like Etheric light to increase the light level of a weapon by one, or two points. That makes Etheric light relative again. Hell, maybe even making etheric light a consumable, and using that consumable makes every single object in your inventory go up by one light level could make the road to max light less grindy. Now, could this method get you to max light too quickly? Well that depends on how often you get the item. If you make it available from raid chests, perhaps that gives players more purpose to go for those chests instead of run by them. Matchmaking No this isn't the usual "raid matchmaking" rant. No. Destiny needs map and strike voting. I don't really have to explain why it needs it, but nevertheless I will. If you add this strike and crucible map voting, you'll be safe from doing the same thing over and over again. I don't know why this hasn't been implemented yet, but if you're planning to not put map and strike voting in the playlists, I don't know what they put in your coffee Patrols Alright simple as this: make patrol have a max fireteam of six over three. This would help Make court of oryx so much easier to do and make patrol a lot more fun. From taken public events to enemies moving against each other, there's so much to do in patrols. I really want to get my raid team together and battle the fallen and hive as they move against each other, and Urox pops down, and taken are corrupting the lands. It would also be nice if we could have more relics in patrol like scorch cannons. I also miss the heavy pikes. I hope you bring those back sometime Something else I like to so see in patrol is past strike and mission areas like the traitor's ketch and the black garden. Adding those in with their own enemies and bosses would only make old patrols more explorable than they already are. Also. Make more patrols like the Dreadnaught please. PVP Alright, I'll keep it short, if you want Destiny to have any future in competitive multiplayer, you need custom matches. It's not all that bad of an idea. You already have a few Gamemodes Rift Control Clash Salvage Rumble Skirmish Elimination And you also have a few crucible modifiers Mayhem Zone Inferno Doubles Mix these two around, and you can have some fun and crazy custom games Inferno Elimination Mayhem Skirmish Zone Rift Doubles Salvage Kinetic Alright, I'll respect your decision to remove elemental primaries, but please take the opportunity to make Kinetic damage be more than a base damage. Let it do more damage to health bars, not shields, than elemental damage weapons do. I'm not saying make it like 200% more, but make it considerably noticeable. If this isn't the case, elemental infusion could also work... Exotic Quests Alright...no more waiting in exotic quests please. I don't care if you make the quest so hard, it takes a week to do. Please, I do not, nor do most of the community, enjoy waiting for arms day to get the weapon I really want. Also, in the future, if you plan to have some more quests locked behind a time gate, please at least keep the whole quest locked behind there (I don't want to get preadyth's ghost and then wait a week to get the quest. I should get it all there and then. That's like ordering a pizza and getting the other half an hour later.), and don't make it go away again, or at least let it come out during every weekend when the majority of your fan base has time to do them. Also when you're testing out exotic quests, be sure that a farming section takes less than twenty minutes. Getting those legendary objects for the sword were exhausting. I think the community can agree that the sword quest would have been stellar if that wasn't there. The Separation of PvP and PvE Alright Bungie, I think it's time that lord Shaax sells more than PvP specific ghost shells. I think his entire stash should only have PvP specific perks. For example a perk reducing melee cool down when killing guardians in the crucible can only be available for his specific weapons. Same goes to vanguard having Pve specific perks. Crucible vendor weapons should not be good in Pve and vanguard vendor weapons should not be good in PvP. A PvP hand canon should never get firefly. It shouldn't just stop here. There should be separate stats for a weapon. Say a gun has a high stability and is good in Pve but is op in PvP. Well, if you change the PvP stats of the gun, the Pve stats won't be affected, thus keeping the gun as it was in Pve. Reforming the Forums and LFG This is more for the community. We need to pull our act together. It's so ridiculous, it's almost laughable. Destiny, these forums mostly, are very toxic. We need to stop being so toxic. I know it's not that simple, but we can do it. As for lfg groups, stop with these elitest requirements. This isn't social Darwinism. This is a video game. Elistests and casuals need to stop fighting, and get along. In Game LFG Speaking of LFG, Destiny is a very social game. If we can't add raid matchmaking, At least build some sort of in game LFG so the casual player doesn't need to use a third party app to find a raid team. In game Grimoire Just put it in. Destiny has great lore. If you make Grimoire accessible in the game, I believe a majority of people Will actually read it then. Also the collective of knowledge group would do backflips in the outback for months if you did this Destiny Story If you give me TTK story and multiply it by three or four, I think that'll do. Micro Transaction Limitations Bungie, I'm gonna say this and say this once. Do not slip. Keep it cosmetic. Keep it at emotes. Never ever, ever under any circumstance, ever slip. If even the slightest class item, or weapon part, or mote, or strange coin becomes available from Tess, this community will crucify you. Weapon Balancing Alright, so I know it's very difficult to balance so many weapons in crucible and Pve, but please do not work with this "weapon season" philosophy. Just try to balance the weapons. I don't want it to swap between pulses to scouts and to autos again. Just make it balanced, not seasoned. Old Content Yes, Bungie, I understand you want to continue forward, but hear me out, half your game's content is irrelevant for the people like me who have been playing Destiny since last September. I think it would be fun, and very nostalgic to replay redesigned content again. For example, old year one strikes. Reduce the all bullet sponge boss health by 35%, and instead give them one mechanic. Let Omnigul spawn down some vestiges Let Phogoth smash the ground and slow everyone down Let The Nexus spawn oracles that will give you a damage buff if you kill them Let The Archon Priest gain an oversheild if it beats a high servitor Let Sepiks regain its health every time a major Dreg sacrifices itself I'm not saying to redo all year one end game, but just redo some of the community's favorite. The Reef So, you give Petra year two bounties, but no year two weapons? What the hell is the point of doing leveling her up? Please, the Petra weapons were never that op to start with. Just add them to the year two armory already. It doesn't even have to be all of them, just a few, so Leveling up Petra actually feels rewarding. While you're at it, you should revamp Varik's offerings. Just making the things he's selling have a year two variant would make the whole prison of elders relevant again, which would diversify the end game even more. I think all the Titans can agree, a year two airplane helmet would be great. I mean the prison of elders weapons were quite underwhelming. Not into do I think Veriks should sell year two variants of them, but I also think they should be remade year two variants, so that shank burn doesn't take up the third perk slot and instead sits at the bottom of the middle perk branch. Strange Coins and Weapon Parts Bungie, I know you're trying to make strange coins and weapon parts feel more like a valuable item then just some garbage that you collect, but please think about the casual gamer. He probably suffers from low amounts of weapon parts and strange coins already. Unlike motes, you can't generate five weapon parts or strange coins every so often. A simple solution for this would be to drop the price of the things Xur is selling and making weapon parts available to buy for glimmer or marks from some vendor, probably the gunsmith. That's about it, for now. Feel free to comment below your opinion on what Destiny needs and needs badly Edit: I actually hit the max for this post. Keep bumping.
