Three Of Coins
Sometimes right when I just used my three of coins on a ultra or a boss I logout of Destiny and shut off my PS4. I come back the next day and kill an ultra or boss with the three of coins and I don't get an exotic engram. I want to know if I have to wait twenty minuets online Destiny to use my three of coins or if I just didn't get an exotic engram on my first try.

If you don't mind me asking - why do you logout before killing the ultra? (It needs to be an ultra kill, not a major). Three of Coins are stackable (which means that when you use one and don't receive a drop, the next time you use one will give you a slightly higher chance, and so on...). As far as I know, there's no timer or delay, besides using them too quickly and farming ultras ~5 minutes between kills. That was implemented so they couldn't be heavily farmed. By logging out and logging back in the next day, you aren't really giving yourself any more of a chance- moreso just prolonging the process. Use them naturally while you're doing activities and killing bosses, and you'll be rewarded.

It is highly doubtful that they are checking play time between coins. Most likely they just log the last time a coin was redeemed (ultra killed) and compare with the current coin redemption time to determine its effectiveness.
