So am I really the only one that thinks The Last Word is still great?
I mean yeah you can't use it beyond medium range but if you can control the recoil and aim down the sights its still a beast. I think that alot of people arent using the sights, expecting the gun to perform well on the hip fire buff, but really all that did was shift the long range power to close range power. I think most are just upset that it isnt just easymode and you actually have to get close to kill people, but seriously, its Time To Kill is still insane.
TLDR: Last Word is still great because of its time to kill. Its balanced, not bad.

Mosts scrubs that use crutch weapons always say things suck after a nerf. When will they ever learn that they just suck?

Yeah. I never used TLW and that part of the quest was still easy.

No I do as well. Also NLB and MIDA , they are all good if you learn how to use them.

Yeah. I hate this weapon now. I have a 290 in my vault and haven't even upgraded it.

2 RepliesInitially, I was really pissed off about how bad it was nerfed. It took a few matches to adjust. Now I can use it just fine. I agree with the ttk [i]IF[/i] you are in the correct position. If an opponent is close enough, he/she will drop like a rock.

1 ReplyI love this weapon too much to let it go. I really hope bungie fixes it or hand cannons in general. This weapon has a spot in my heart as my favorite weapon in ANY game.

You are not alone. I still love, and do well with my hand cannons. As for The Last Word, I get close and hip spray idiots. It works well doing that, at longer range ADS is very necessary.

It was my very first exotic, still a great weapon, always will be. But I'm definitely biased lol level 27 with a last word from gorgon chest? Whaaaaat

I like where it is now. It's a bit niche and definitely close range but that's always what it was meant for. Many still love it, many hate it. To me that sounds like balance.

2 RepliesI use it when facing a team full of shotty users, then it is kill. Otherwise, there are other weapons that are much better choices currently. Since handcannons got an overall stability/range debuff, I don't think the additional nerf to the stability and range was needed on TLW.

Needs more ammo in the mag, a standard high rate of fire hand cannon had ten. Needs more range. In my opinion equal to half it's stability. Also all hand cannons need an accuracy boost. Range should not determine accuracy. Hand cannons have less trigger pulls than any other weapon type and the lowest rate of fire. Bullets need to go where you're aiming. Damage drop off is fine. Range should determine that. I use last word and win most fights, but that's because I have to completely alter how I play and I'm good, not to inflate my ego. I'm saying the weapon sucks, legendary hand cannons are better, but I love the weapon too much to put it down.

not enough ammo per clip for me. next to impossible to get more than a double kill with it.

It's balanced now it was my favourite gun but since nerf hawkmoon is but its up there I'd say it need a slight reduction to the recoil as u burn through ammo with all the shots you miss

Its my favorite gun in the game... still It does need accuracy back though. Range nerf was reasonable

9 RepliesBalance can never truly exist in a shooter. Balance implies equality. A balanced crucible would have guns that all perform the same, making weapon choice pointless. Why use any other weapon when they all do the same thing? Bungie is just incompetent, exaggerated by the lack of effort on their part to make anything creative in this game. Last Word is terrible. Not so much from lack of function. I can still use it and do fine. But the effort required to do so isn't worth the reward of getting the kill. The weapon is useless past shotgun range. Every gun in the game can beat it, simply because it sucks past 10ft. Then pair this with the terrible stability, low mag size, and the 4 shots to kill... The weapon is just, not really worth using. So if you just like to fire a fast handcannon as I do, it's still fun to do. But don't confuse fun with, effective. Because any other gun will have a substantial advantage over you past shotgun range.

Didn't like it to begin with don't like it now it was my second exotic primary in year one as well first being euros, first exotic being gally That being said glad you still enjoy it and are able to use it
