Hard Mode Oryx Defeat for... Nothing.
To be clear, I'm quite familiar with the insane fortune of some and the utter inability for others to get decent gear during raids. I happen to fall in the second group, with two runs up to Oryx netting only a couple 313 pieces and a handful of 310 gear.
For the most part, I get it... The allure of playing week after week comes from a lack of drop quality, and I've played along for over a year now... But I'll tell you what; My group battled it out, put in a good 8-10 hours or so on Oryx on hard, lost guardians, found others on LFG (always a good laugh when the dudes come into party and call us f****ts because we are 310-312), and FINALLY took that giant monster down.
The feeling of satisfaction lasted about five seconds, until I moved over to the chest to uncover a 313 ghost that I'd already gotten that raid run. It complimented a sisters completion that gave me nothing in the chest.
Bungie, you waste our time grinding out IB for 280-290 garbage gear that would be deemed irrelevant in exactly three days. You sit back and snicker while we carry less than knowledgeable guardians through the raid only to watch them get better gear in one run than we have gotten in over a month worth of completions... And now this... a final hard mode boss without a guarantee of ANYTHING.
it's just sad. I love this raid almost as much as I do VoG. I love it almost as much as I hated the Crota raid... But I just don't know how many more hours of ridiculous grinding I can tolerate for zero rewards. It's a waste of my time.
Thanks for the emblem though. My messages have never been so active while in tower. Too bad I'm not high enough level to join the groups inviting me.

I kind of know what you mean. I picked up a 310 harrowed chest from golgoroth. Beat Oryx and got the same thing. AND a normal mode chest at about 308. Kinda killed the mood after shooting Oryx in his gaping hole for an hour.

6 hard completes, no primary or armor from oryx. Got 3 bonds and nothing esle. Real bummer. There's always next week :/

2 RepliesWhen you're about to quit, on your last run where you're like "If I don't get anything I'm quitting" you will get every piece of gear you needs. I'm assuming since you have this problem like many others you (including me) in the boat of watching the bad people get exotics and 320 raid gear while you get nothing or 310 gear lol. Welcome to destiny's rng where the scrubs get carried and your loot table doesn't exist lol -.-

I got a 314 ghost on my first completion that means I have one more ghost to keep on one of my characters. As much as rng can suck, I'm not gonna have a greedy mentality. My time will come when my drops are insane. And if not, I'll have a great time in trials

2 RepliesGot 317 harrowed smite of merain (infused into ToM) 317 harrowed defiance of yasmin 300 elliums frenzy 319 ghost shell 319 gauntlets 316 boots 317 mark. Overall pretty good stuff.

took my 307 titan in got 317 Yasmin, 317 body but couldn't beat Oryx with a team of 308-309s. took my hunter in got 317 body, 303 ghost (hardmode) couldn't beat oryx with 308-309s. Scraped everything on my hunter and titan got my warlock to 313... beat Oryx and got only 310 boots! Yes I learned my lesson, to beat oryx you lose a lot in return.

I have to admit I was upset too. I got a 310 hallowed auto rifle (on warlock), and a 315 mark when I had already gotten a 316 earlier. What made it worth it was a finally got a 319 hand cannon on my hunter last night. I'm with you as well. All the completions on normal and I never got a 310 drop. Heck I only got 1 helmet to drop and it was 302 on my warlock which was useless because my exotic was already 310 from the 600 exotic helmets I get. RNG is and probably will forever be broken.

Other drops on all 3 characters: 310 sniper 313 sniper 315 sniper 310 gloves for Titan 315 mark for warlock 319 boots for hunter 313 shotgun And previously mentioned 315 ghost

From the whole raid I received 320 rocket 313 mg 317 gloves 312 chest 311 mark 312 boots

I beat Golgoroth which is the easiest boss of the raid and got 317 boots, beat Oryx which is the most demanding part of the raid... Got 314 boots. Smh

Want to know what I got from Oryx in 2 hard mode completions? 1- (Had already completed normal on this character) NOTHING 2- 310 class item No guns, no helpful armor....what's the point of running these again?

yes, this is the "more content" Bungie promised us. What they meant was "you will have to grind more than ever to get gear so we are just calling that content". Even the dedicated fan boys are starting to lose interest in this over-inflated grindfest that has become TTK. The raid is great fun but not worth the effort to get nothing over and over again. I can see why people want high light level players to do the raid- they don't want to waste time carrying someone though just to get garbage in return. If I had more people to raid with I would probably feel the same. However, I am lucky just to find enough people to do the raid with at this point so I will take what I can get. Also, kind of tired of being the only one on the fireteam that does more than 3mill damage to warpreist and golgorath. We usually get it done but its frustrating seeing everyone else putting up numbers that barely reach the 1 millions. Any experienced teams looking for another member?

I'm still a pubic hair away from being a 310 because of this, so most raid teams on LFG that know what they're doing won't let me in because I'm a 309.

I hear you man. First Oryx run I got nothing from sisters and then Oryx only gave me a worse ghost than I got from totems. Had better luck second time on Oryx, still no deathsinger drop but pulled 319 pulse and 317 chest. I think it would be reasonable to guarantee a weapon on Oryx. But I think the chance of getting nothing makes it better when you do drop something. If everyone got the same thing it'd be boring I guess.

Went in as a 296 titan, came out a 292 hunter. My lock was jelly, cause he stuck at 288. Poor thing.

1 ReplyLucky. I haven't even been able to get past Golgoroth (my team continues to bail and meander off leaving me high and dry) I can't even beat the checkpoint that givea you armor. Be glad you have a consistent team.

I think the drop rates are fine how they are right now as I've gotten multiples of most things, but the random value drops needs to stop. It will start to make a difference in trials if you have 310's playing 319's who happened to run the raid the same amount as the 310's they just got lucky. The random damage and defense values were fine for normal where we could supplement them with 3oC drops once we hit 300, but it doesn't appear to be the case here

What's worse is getting one drop. A 310 harrowed chest plate on my hunter. Hours on oryx for that. All I can do is laugh. How is that allowed to happen??????? Bullshit
