....with an L3 function to hold your breath and steady your scope. Can only hold your breath for 3 seconds and there can be perks to extend it. Im offering this as a player who only snipes so no im not some shotgunner who's tired of being sniped. It would eliminate most of the head level hardscoping just waiting for someone to come through that doorway and pull the trigger.
It'd add more skill to sniping & make it more of a challenge.
Edit: Jeeze guys the scope sway doesnt have to be dramatic... just slight. I unno, for me just makes each precision shot feel that much more rewarding.
Edit: it really isnt that bad, it's not like destiny has bullet travel time, bullet drop, bullet compensation, a zero-in function, suppression hindrance, it's just scope sway lol.

Edited by Erijian: 10/27/2015 2:37:57 PMSniper Rifles shouldn't be allowed to shoot immediately after aiming in with perfect accuracy. Get rid of that quickscoping bullshit and force them into long-range, like how they should be used. There's no need for Sniper Rifles to be allowed to preform in close ranges so easily even if a player is good with them.

God no. I don't get in other games where I have this super soldier and then he can't even lift the -blam!-ing gun.
-
I love how everyone bitches about shotguns, but how hard is to just sit back like a little pussy and wait for people to come around corners to kill them. Sniping takes less skill than using a shotgun. At least with shotguns you have to be up close and personal to get a kill .

Glenn died

Edited by Zephyr: 10/28/2015 4:45:42 AMI don't understand the need to make snipers more "realistic" in games by adding sway. Holding another button to stabilize is nothing like real life so why draw a line here. I want to play a game to have fun and shoot aliens. I don't care about compensating for wind or holding breath artificially to make a shot.
-
Aim assist would make scope sway moot.
-
Battlefield huh?
-
Uhhh....no....that would be terrible... Like MGS2 all over again...I loved MGS2 (one of my top 5 fav games evah!) but the sniping sections were utter trash simply because it was like you were drunk all the damn time you were trying to snipe. Sorry, I play games for enjoyment, and that doesn't always equate to authenticity. Besides, we are talking about Destiny here, not CoD or Medal Of Honor - we are in the future running around on the Moon with the same gravity as on earth - you want to go for authenticity, how about adjusting the maps to fall in line with physics?
-
Let's just enroll in the army and go real life. That way we can see who is more skillful and the sway would be great for op. It's a video game...just have fun and chill.

Edited by DullahansXMark: 10/27/2015 5:02:19 AM
It'd add more skill to sniping
LOL Game Design 101: adding any element of randomness to a game removes an element of skill. I'll explain further if I need to, but I really shouldn't have to (to really see what I mean, just play Call of Duty for a few minutes. There's barely any difference between a series veteran and a noob when it comes to skill level, if they're both allowed the same selection of guns. I would know, I was skunking people when I played Blops 2 for a couple of days.) Plus it's lore-breaking. There was a rare sniper rifle with a description along the lines of "Guardians eschew the bipod, as it is a tool for those without preternatural gifts of war". Guardians don't need that stuff to hold their rifle perfectly steady. It's literally in the lore of the game. TL;DR: this would be awful. The game already makes sniping impossible enough in PvP, what with close-quarter maps and scope glint. You're already earning your kills if you actually get them.
-
Go play call of duty if you want sniper sway
-
Space magic.
-
why? this is the future, and exos would have a clear advantage
-
oh yes shut those faze lame snipers take the most skill douches up.
-
Maybe if upper body shots were one hit kills
-
I wouldn't mind as long as they lessen the damn flinch.
-
No This is NOT CoD Keep that in that game, i can't even get bodyshots with that sometimes!
-
Scope sway was dumb random nonsense. Given the amouny of quick scoping in call of duty: Modern Gay -blam!- Stupid it doest help does it Please, take this idea and drown it.
-
Well, for awoken and humans this makes sense. But for exos it does not, if an exo is a robot then they would be able to hold a gun perfectly steady with no sway. So I don't think giving snipe sway to only 2 races sounds fair, cause then everyone would just make exos to not have the sway
-
Your character actually holds it breath automatically when aiming down site with a headset and a quiet place you can actually hear this. So really sway with flinch would be very silly, there only sniper you do not do this with is your nlb
-
Only if they remove flinch, otjerwise another gun type thrown in the useless pile. I guess your a shotgun user ?
-
Then destiny would be like call of duty
-
Go back to CoD
-
No it easier without it
