Edited by Lunasia_: 10/26/2015 11:06:35 PMGood to see a bungie employee can understand this is a good strategy and theres not just one way of doing a raid.
-
Thank you man. I'm glad it's helping the community. Keep up the good work bungie.
-
Damn so many butt hurt people over a different strat
-
If world's first did it this way nobody would be saying cheese.. just sayin
-
Agree. Thank you.
-
Good strat = bypass mechanics. Got it.
-
The Knights spawn because you killed the ogres to fast..as a penalty almost..so saving the ogres for when u go to set off the blights is smart..did we all not run middle strat on Crota to avoid the boomers?? Same thing.
-
Edited by Benzene21: 10/26/2015 4:40:53 PMUh not really. The knights still spawn. You still need to get the relic. You still need to kill the ogres. You still need the bombs. You still need to stay alive. You still need... well, you get the point.
-
it's not bypassing mechanics. It's adjusting your own strategy to reduce the effectiveness of the knights. You still have to kill the ogres and you still have to move quickly enough so the knights don't get you once they're down which can happen. 3+4 = 7 but so does 5+2. You can have more than one way of doing things. It's not unplugging a LAN cord or pushing a boss off the screen.

Thank you sir. Couldn't have said it better myself. My intent for this start was not to cheese but to eliminate a problem which was the Knights and to keep everyone alive longer.
-
Well said!
-
I never said it was cheating. I beat it the normal way. Then ended up in a group that wanted this strat. Imo it was way harder than doing it as intended.
-
Define "normal way." If the 1st group had done this, this would be the "normal way." Trailblazers set the strat, others simplify it.
-
and that's cool it wasn't your preferred strategy. You have your own way and that's awesome. But don't say good strat = bypass mechanics. It's not bypassing mechanics. In Crota hard if you kill boomers you get wizards. What did people do? Allowed the boomer knights to stick around and find a way to distract them. Were people bypassing mechanics? No...they strategically didn't kill boomer knights. Crota hard you also couldn't do Crota from the bottom room anymore because of the gatekeeper. What did people do? Go to the shelf up above. In all cases the game clearly is acting the way it was intended, including this Oryx strategy. In this case, people have changed the timing of when to kill the ogres and positioned themselves in a higher location to gain better awareness of the ground below. It's really smart. Kudos to the guys who figured that out.

This post is logical. You must be new to these parts....
-
Beat it the original way and come back.
-
Edited by tgpumpkin: 10/26/2015 8:41:56 PMI love people who say do it the 'original way'. There is no 1 way of doing things. Believe it or not...3+4 =7 but so is 5+2. Mind blown...right? I guarantee you if THIS method was the first one used when people played, all of you would consider it the 'original way'. Chew on that. Ingenuity from the players on this should be celebrated especially considering there isn't cheese here AT ALL.
-
Let me guess no knight strat?
-
I've done it both ways man. Kill ogre, snipe knights rinse repeat. I'm defending this strategy though because it's pretty inventive.
-
That's what I'm talking about... How hard is it to hit some Knights with a game that has one of the highest aim assist I've ever seen?!?
-
Lol it's so easy to hit the knight in the head 2 times.
-
Bungie plz nerf Knights their movement is to fast for OP
-
Lol your stalking me bruh.
-
lol -_- stalking No. Hoping you share this insight on how to aim and shoot these OP Knights maybe
