Game is unplayable due to error codes

I have played on and off since right after launch. Occasionally I would get a disconnect, maybe a couple times a week but nothing major. Since the launch of Taken King I have been getting Centipede and Currant errors constantly, as well as getting hung up on loading screens while going between game zones. I have reset my modem and router multiple times, wiped the cache on my Xbox one, and now re installed the game. I have a cone type nat, and no issues with any other game on Xbox live. The error codes are so constant now that I spend my entire time re logging instead of actually playing. I have several friends that I used to group with on a regular basis, most of whom have quit because of similar issues with the game. I know there are a large amount of people that have a trouble free Destiny experience. However if you look at these forums it seems the number that are getting shafted by an unplayable mess are getting more and more. Update: Wired ethernet NAT type: Open Download speed: 5.25 Mbps Upload: .84 Mbps Packet loss: 0 MTU: 1480 Latency: 30 ms I know my internet speed isn't blazing fast, but I had no problems like this prior to The Taken King.

  • I appreciate the response. However I wonder why did my connection to Destiny just suddenly get terrible right at the release of the Taken King? Almost a year of mostly trouble free playing and then it went to crap with the new expansion. As for your network troubleshooting guide, I have done everything that is suggested as I previously stated in my original post. I just tried logging in again and can't even get to the character select screen. 6 centipede disconnects in a row. Destiny is now un-installed and I am done. Going to play Halo 5 and stop wasting my time with this game.

  • Hello Jorugburn, I'm sorry to hear that you're having connection issues. From reviewing the information that you have provided, you may want to contact your ISP about modifying your upload speeds. Destiny may request up to 1 Mbps download and upload bandwidth. If at any time your upload speed falls out of tolerable limits, you may be subject to repeat disconnects. If this is the case, this may explain why you have been experiencing issues. Upload speeds are often overlooked in favor of having a reliable down rate, however they are equally as important in establishing a solid Destiny experience. Furthermore, you may wish to take a look at our Network Troubleshooting Guide to learn how to get the optimal network setup for playing Destiny. Even when other games seem to be working fine we've found that Destiny may require a few tweaks to your network to get the best performance.

  • Took a couple days away from the game. Tried again, centipede on log in. Then a couple crucible matches followed by currant disconnect. Now I can't even go to the tower. I've had 6 currants in a row.

  • Still currant, centipede, hare, and rabbit. Over, and over, and over. Still no help from Bungie cs.

  • I was able to get my NAT type to register as open finally. Still error codes and disconnects. I forgot to mention I have tried port forwarding, which also didn't work.

    • 3 centipedes before I could even log in to game just now. And still currant disconnects at least every other time I try to do anything. Can't even do the weekly pvp because of disconnects.
