Official Jolly Holiday/Imprecation Crucible help thread

Somebody had to do it. We knew someone would. It wouldn't happen if quests had either/or options. Quest objectives like this defeat the purpose if this is what it comes down to. Please Bungie, Crucible participation is one thing, but don't force people to be great in PvP to complete a quest. Especially with a nerfed or just plain bad weapon. Edit: This was meant for people to find others to help with TLW kills in rumble. Not a Shield Brothers strike recruiting thread. Edit: Updated to include help with the Crucible portion of the Imprecation quest. Edit: Even with help from another person it can be hard to get 7 precision kills in one match for Imprecation depending on the map because you die so much trying to meet up. I recommend a group of three. Edit: If you see someone doing one of these in rumble, please help them with these quest steps or at least leave them alone. You have no idea how much it's appreciated.

  • Seconding this in full. While I applaud the spirit of the Mission, that being to keep people using the last word despite the nerf, the fact that the KD rates are actually even, meaning that to advance at ALL with the weapon you need a positive KD, or you WILL lose progress, locks the Chaperone away to skilled or regular PcP players. Wheras the rest of us (Or maybe just me, I don't speak for anyone else but I think other people will agree with me) who do not frequent PvP like it's the only thing in the game and oftentimes don't even prefer that broken insta-kill exotic and rockets-happy meta sandbox to the game that Bungie spent all their time and hard work making and detailing after everyone bitched to get the game fixed due to Year 1's abundant problems. I don't frequent PvP, never have, never liked it, it's only fun with my friends and so frustrating by myself that I have ragequit destiny itself for a few days more than once. And I'm sure that a lot of other people can sympathize when I talk about just how frustrating it is when you've just killed someone and suddenly someone that was NOT there on your motion tracker literally a second before -so you had no way of knowing that they were there- come up behind you or from a corridor that you hadn't noticed in your mad rush to kill the other person before they killed you back and get blindsided by a shotgun or a rocket or one of those accursed OP exotics that got nerfed to hell and back. like Last Word, Thorn, Pocket Infinty, Plan C, Suros, etc. REPEATEDLY. I'm not a good crucible player. I say that freely and without shame, and for quests like this that REQUIRE crucible participation to continue in it, it's a long and hard process, and I BANK on the quest giving me more points for a kill or assist than it takes away from me for death, because i will die. A LOT.. But for Holiday's quest, you NEED a positive KD because every death takes as much percentage away as it would give you for a kill. So you have to be either godly in the crucible,(usually using anything BUT the last word so long as it's equipped so that the quest continues, because the last word's damage, range and fire rate have all been nerfed hard), or with a full fireteam in rumble so that you all just go on the same map and they just let you kill them over and over till you get it. Neither option is remotely easy, whether finding 5 people willing to die over and over for your quest completion, or just being that good. I've been up to 18% on the quest, that's my highest, and then in one match brought back to 4% or 0%, and I cannot tell you how frustrating it is. I've spent whole mornings working the Crucible, trying to get that up, but I can never get a consistent enough positive K/D to get it higher than 18% and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. The K/D rates need to be modified, so that a death only takes away half your score, an assist keeps it level because it gives a half point and kills give you a full point, or something along those lines. Something to make it fairer than it is now. It'd be a slow grind for us less skilled Crucible players, but we'd stand a chance of getting it without feeling like Holiday is mocking us.
