Will last gen be left behind? Bungie help!
One of my friends was 'kind' enough to tell me that Xbox 360 and PS3 won't feature any of the expansions after TTK. That stinks, because I have 175 gigabytes left in storage space on my console.
Is this true? I'm considering upgrading to next gen next year. I want to make my 360 last as long as it can.
I want a Bungie employee or BNG_Help officer to answer.
EDIT: Never thought it would get this attention. Most of you guys are like "Screw you last gen owners," but still... I have 360, and want a PS4 so badly so I can play with my friends. But I don't want to start over.
EDIT 2: Wow! 200+ replies! I'm not missing out on anything in last gen. "I think I'll upgrade because of the curved HUD."
EDIT 3: 500+ replies. I haven't gotten a straight answer yet though. I just keep getting salt because I'm a last gen owner. Keep the salt shaking!

Last gen had a good run, better than any other console generation. It's time to move on and to let new hardware get the most out of our games instead of being handcuffed by last-gen restraints. If people can't afford to upgrade to new-gen, well, you'll just have to wait until you can afford it. Having the newest console isn't a right, it's a privilege. And you can't expect developers to let decade old hardware limit their plans forever because of it.

It's perfectly reasonable to leave last gen behind when destiny 2 comes out. Not while destiny 1 is still in progress though. But once the second game is on its way, in order to actually make the game better, only current gen should be used. Last gen is factually what's holding the game back. Better graphics, more features (vault space for example) and things like that are limited due to the limitations of old consoles. As for wanting to move your stuff from Xbox to playstation, that will never be possible I don't think. That will require starting over. Only way I could see that happening is if you make a profile and they make a feature that allows you to permanently copy all of your stuff and characters over to the new profile and then the old one is deleted in the process. Just my two cents.

No idea what Bungie's plans are for future content beyond TTK, but getting a near 11 year life cycle out of the 360 is quite impressive. Expansion wise I think the rest of Destiny's lifespan will see PS3/360 support. Its Destiny 2 that'll most likely drop support for em.

4 RepliesUnfortunately, your 175 GB of space left is useless. Games need RAM, and with the ps3 and x360 having 512 MB, vs the 4 GB of RAM for the newer gen consoles, the processing power needed for the newer games just are too much for the older consoles. Sorry man

Meh, this wouldn't even be a issue if it were available for PC. [spoiler]This is not a "peasant/master race" thing. I just have zero interest in playing... pretty much anything else XB/PS has to offer, so buying a dedicated piece of hardware every few years just feels stupid.[/spoiler]

It's been two years almost. If you wait long enough, you'll be able to skip right over This Gen and go straight to Future Gen.

This sounds harsh but you're lucky they even made TTK for last gen. It's been holding back the current gen which is really disappointing for a game that's supposed to be next gen. I understand it doesn't make a lot of sense to upgrade if your 360 works just fine but it should come as no surprise that eventually you were going to get left behind.
