You have allowed them to believe that its ok to introduce micro transactions into the game. With posts like "i would pay for those emotes/shaders" or "i would buy a jellyhorn" you've given them the power to do this...Now feel free to enjoy the consequences of your words. Don't complain about what you have begged for thus far...
Edit: Sorry for the miscommunication Guardians. This post blew up and thats not what I expected to be honest lol. I have no qualms about what bungie is doing. I can afford it. Some guardians can some can't. My point is that this was requested, so don't complain about what it could lead to. If this helps bungie release free DLC, I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I am all for it. My personal concern is how far they might take these microtransactions. Thats all. Peace and more power to you guardians.

"people must start to realise bungie have to feed their families" is most hillarious justification i've seen yet. times are clearly tough for Deej http://imgur.com/OaXkpRF haha

As a wise YouTuber once stated about bungie.
You let them -blam!- you in the ass then get surprised when they want to cum on your face.
-
Bungie has their shills out. The fanboys are pretty busy, too :P Beware the shills.
-
People need to make money. It's like clash of clans you choose what you pay for bro. No1 forcing you to do anything.

Edited by Bungolickstaints: 10/6/2015 2:27:52 PMMicro transactions are like communism, they look good on paper, but aren't good in reality. I see where they COULD be a good thing, but every game I've ever played that implemented micro transactions, they always STARTED as something small (emotes etc), but eventually grew to effect the game (pay-to win). If Bungie can implement Microtransactions without Destiny becoming pay-to-win, then I'm all for it. I've stopped trusting Bungie though so I'm just gonna expect them to sell Ghally v5.0, 1 hit kill against all bosses for $80. (For real though people, what has Bungie done recently that makes you think they are gonna handle this correctly?....)
-
You might want to change 'what's bungie doing' to activision as they are money whores behind all micro transactions, I don't think bungie want it either as there's rumours of a destiny 2 coming sometimes next year and that destiny as it is today will be like warframe with added free content
-
WHOOOO THEY NEED IT FOR FUTURE DEVELOPMENT (read: stuff they already made but haven't bothered to unlock on your disk yet) Do it. If you like Destiny, you need to pay more. A lot more. Or you aren't helping the nieces. You jerk.

Blame CODAW

We basically gave Luke Smith shit for saying we throw money at the screen for everything they give out, and then we prove him right.
-
All I know is I'd throw money at the screen for a middle finger emote.
-
Imagine money could been spent somewhere else instead of in game shaders and dance moves. Sad and true

Buying EVERY micro transaction
-
I wonder how much Battlefront will sell cool Jedi dance moves for?
They promised they NEVER would. Seems significant for a developer to promise such a thing...
Lots of games do this. Even Gears of War has a bunch of gun shaders for sale. Phone games are the king of it, though they're a lot worse because their mode of selling paid content is buying things that help progress the game so you don't need to wait. So as long as they don't use these buyable things to progress the game then they're doing fine. And that seems to be the general consensus.
-
They're just emotes. We're fine. If they go beyond cosmetics and into the land of legendaries, exotics and materials, then that's another story, but do you really think they're going to try that on us? They've been screwing us over until TTK which was actually good and even now, many don't like them. It's too risky.

Edited by Xeoboy: 10/6/2015 7:15:22 PMIn that case here is my request I need 1 million dollars but I will settle for $350,000 that would pay off my house and debt and allow me to quit my job lol. Make it happen Bungie and we an be friends. All joking aside though they have stated its only cosmetic. If they change this option to include weapons and armor that are more powerful; then we have a serious problem and I would be done. I am looking forward to the new content and stories it may keep me going a big longer. This also depends on how good/bad Battlefront 3 is.

It's stated that these micro transactions do not affect your game play, for now it's emotes, so what?. Maybe in the future it will be emblems, shaders, hairstyles etc, things that have no relevance to success in the game so it's really no big deal. If I see a pulp fiction emote I'm buying it, (why?) Because really it's no big deal whether I do or not but it's something I would like. I bought a Guar and a Panther on ESO, again not game changing but something I liked. It's all down to personal choice so why make it all out to be a negative when it is clearly not?. Micro transactions are here to stay, be it destiny or any other game, as long as it is not affecting your end game then it really isn't important.
-
I'm not entirely sure how these micro transactions are any different than dlc skin packs that people buy...
-
Well they already had us pay $100 for a beta, so now they're making people pay for the micro transactions beta. In about 1-2 months, we will see "Random ascended year 1 exotic - $10" and people will just keep on payin.
-
Ascended year one exotics for £20 Calling it.
-
Woah woah woah, all you guardians attacking me by saying, well i can afford this and how bad i am for posting this. Please please please read the post again. Im actually probably gonna buy a few of these because i can. Thats not my problem. People asked for this. They ask for alot of things and then complain about it when its delivered. Thats my point. You asked for this. So once they start charging for more important things please dont complain. Thats my point. Jesus Christ, some of you are right when you say this community is a shit fest.
-
This just makes me more suspicious that they'll try to resell us old exotics.
-
Bungievision would of implemented this a lot earlier but they had to see how many idiots were willing to spend money on useless items. A vast amount of people threw money at the screen with the release of TTK, so here's the outcome.
-
It's like that moment after the ship hit the iceberg, and people are looking around wondering will happen, then it starts going dooowwwwn.
-
I hate microtransactions.
-
Yeah how dare they want to support the developer!!! Like do they really want bungie to have more money to put into the game so everyone gets a better experience?! First we're going to buy emotes then other things that have no actual impact on the gameplay, remember what happened to Halo 4 when you could buy weapon skins and armor packs! This is the worst thing to happen to bungie ever the new dances will be way too op, bungie please nerf.
