ORYX HEALTH CONFIRMED WITH MATHS!!! (Mistakes found but good estimate)

Hey guys, after being curious for awhile I thought if it was possible to survive the blights on the kings fall raid. I knew it wasn't an instakill since oryx didn't die but adds did. Surviving the oversoul on crota or the curse thing skolas gave only made me more confident and here it is. First we tried Armor of light + Blessing of light + Sword Block (Proven to stack) http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/IxI%20Crimson%20IxI/video/10995008 Once I had jumped out the bubble, blessing was gone. Then we tried Armor of Light + Sword Block http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/IxI%20Crimson%20IxI/video/10995007 We all had different elements for swords, none of us died proving it was kinetic damage. Then we were cheeky enough to try it sword only http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/IxI%20Crimson%20IxI/video/10995006 (Btw I have Max Armor) Finally just for the giggles, armor of light. (Really bungie!? A damn sword gives more DR than armor of light??) http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/IxI%20Crimson%20IxI/video/10995005 Anyways down to business. So what we needed to do was get these values are take them into PvP. First we needed to find out the DR % of a sword. My friend used his her benevolence on my in pvp. A Her Benevolence body shot does 167 damage. While when blocking with the sword it does 50. (Insert maths that I'm not bothered to type) The percentage difference is 107% Meaning that a sword grants the user 107% DR while blocking with a sword. If i'm correct, 1 armor = 1 hp so guardians can have 190-200 without extra armor perks meaning my titan had about 198 hp. Now we needed an attack which has a consistent value throughout PvE and PvP. My friend.. Shoulder charge. This does exactly 200 hp worth of damage in pvp which was perfect. We went specifically to the kings fall checkpoint (since the light level is at it's highest there) and used shoulder charge. (My light level is 306 so there is no damage penalty). It did 4734 damage. Now I needed to revert the value. 4734 x 107 (this is 107%) = 506538 damage I'm gonna go ahead and round that to 500000. 506538 would be correct.. assuming I had 200 hp which I don't I have 198. I'm quite confident the blight damage is 500,000 and as we all know. 4-5 sets is a win, you can only do it in 4 sets if you have enough damage. 20 Orbs indefinitely takes down oryx even if you aren't shooting him after detonation. 500,000 x 20 = 10 mil. I made this post to debunk all the people claiming he has "Billions and Billions of HP", shooting oryx after detonation can make that little difference between 51% hp and 49%. And no, guardians don't take 500,000 damage... it's obviously converted. Thanks for reading anyway, I'm no pro at maths, so if I made mistakes, please do correct me. :) Bump this please, the community needs to know! Edit: Finally trending.. yes....xD Edit 2 : For people claiming 107% would nulify all damage, I'll copy and paste this example. Think of it like this. 1.0 = No damage resistance. 1.5 = 50% DR which is like a quarter of damage negated.( if 50% meant half BDs could survive a GG shot) 2.0 = 100% DR, which is like all damage taken is halved It's a bit confusing to understand since the percentages don't work how they're meant to. Edit 3 (Final for today) : There seems to be a 2.07 issue, problem is when using this method instead of my one, the answer becomes unrealistic. If anyone is able to make sense of this that'd be great, for now i'll keep the 107 up. Edit 4 : I don't think theres a proper to convert PvP damage into PvE damage... it's a shame :/.

That math is hella wrong....and a stack of 100% DR would be 0 damage period. There is no way around this. It's not a multiplicative buff. It's one single reduction. The DR of the sword is approximately 70%. Not 107. And when multiplying by percentages you change it to a decimal. It does not just become an entire whole number. And before you point me to edit 2 it doesn't work that way when doing multiplication. While yes it will work if all damage is determined through the same DR factor you didn't even account for it in your math for health. When using that version of reduction you would have to multiply it by 2.07 not by the percentage. This version of DR though is something known as decreasing returns. It is used to make something like 100% DR an impossibility as the more you stack the less it actually decreases. Though even using this method you did the initial math wrong. Using decreasing returns 167 changing to 50 would be over 200% in DR. As 50 x 2.07 =\= 167
