Hey there Bungie, and anyone else that's tuning in. I have a little problem with the creativity, usefulness, and implementation of Titan melee attacks.
Now, I'm not here whining for a buff or complaining for you to nerf others. It's just that, well, Titans have literally the most boring melee abilities in the entire game. Even dregs can get melee kills with more pizazz. I play all 3 classes and let me break it down for you.
Hunter
Normal: cool looking knife swipe
Gunslinger: Ranged throwing knife
Bladedancer: Semi ranged teleport stab
Voidstalker: Throws poison smoke bomb
Warlock
Normal: Sonic high five. Not bad
Voidwalker: Semi ranged force palm burst, can makes enemies exloded
Sunsinger: Semi ranged fire wave burns enemies or instantly gives you shield
Stormcaller: Double handed ranged lightning shock that chains.
Annnnnnnd Titans
Normal: a punch. That's perfectly fine
Striker: a punch. Enemies turn blue
Defender: a punch. Enemies turn purple
Sunbreaker: a punch. Enemies turn red.
See what they're missing? Variety. Creativity. Everything interesting.
I feel like a class that talks big shit about being the punching/melee masters should be able to back it up. Hell, at least a different animation from the normal melee would brighten my day. Here's a couple ideas. Could work with any subclass because all of them are going to punch anyways.
An uppercut: Could make enemies disoriented for a moment.
Aoe punch: punch something so hard it sends shockwaves to other enemies.
1-2 combo: punch something twice in the face. Why the hell not.
Sunbreaker: swing that hammer for a special melee. That sounds interesting.
Just please add a little bit of oomph to the Titan melee. We're dying out here Bungie.
/End rant. I'm punching out ;)
