Destiny pub stomps...

...exist purely because "try hard" pre-mades can't play a ranked mode with their friends. My friend and I mercy ruled three teams in a row last night in salvage purely because we could talk to eachother and they weren't communicating. I was also the recipient of a whooping from a pre-made in rift three minutes ago. It's because of this pre-made imbalance that I average a 1.4 k/d while almost never actually getting a 1.4 k/d. Some games I'm 2-3.0, others I'm .5. I feel like you could alleviate a lot of the need for the mercy rule simply by giving competitive players a better outlet for playing as a team: a ranked system for varying team sizes. Trials was a good start/idea, but just not nearly enough. Bungie practically created competitive FPS' for console. I convinced my friend to play Destiny last night and his very first question was how the ranked system worked and whether or not it was like Halo's ranked system. I told him there wasn't one. He was immediately put off of the game. What PvPer wants to play crucible all day with nothing to work towards? It doesn't even need to be loot; simply a rating on a ladder to be competitive. All of Bungies most successful games have had some sort of ranked PvP system. Why doesn't Destiny? I love Destiny, but PvPers want to be competitive and the only outlet being a supposedly "casual" playlist is really toxic for the game. Give us somewhere else to go, and the crucible won't be such a crap shoot all the time! *ranked doubles pls omg*
