(Hey! ATTENTION GRABBING CAPS LOCK) I Need Your Opinion!
Yes, that would be a great function!

Hmm...maybe, I find both pros and cons to that.

I got this idea from Need for Speed Rivals. In it's open world, a player can drive onto a certain points and wait for other drivers to drive up next to them. When ready, the player can start the event/race and everyone around next to him would be thrown into the event as well.
What if Destiny did something like this? For example: I could be waiting in front of the portal into the Black Garden on Mars and a player shows up next to me. When he clicks in to view options for interacting with me, the player chooses Join FireTeam and seamlessly we're connected and we both go into the portal together and destroy the Heart. This would especially be helpful on Venus when raising the Spires.
It's annoying when I'm in the Tower and I see a friend and when I join them and I'm thrown into Orbit only to come right back to the same Tower I was just at. The same thing happens in the patrols or missions as well.
If we were able to do that, it would not only be nice and save time, but it would be easier to make friends.
Let me know what you all think.
