Hardcore Playlist: No Supers, Exotics, Etc.

Currently we have Destiny's meta Crucible. Thorn, Last Word, "OP" supers, blink, and maxed range shotguns. Lots of people cry nerf for many of these weapons and abilities, and rightfully so, but what If we had a playlist that was purely skill based and was all a equal playing field? My solution-- A hardcore playlist How would this be hardcore? Would this only be for try hards or people who suck at the current meta game? I would say it would be for both. This would almost completely merge this skill gap we have in the meta game. This would also show skilled players from non-skilled players (not that we need to do that). No Supers This is pretty self explanatory. No supers. But wouldn't one class be a lot more powerful than all of the others, because of their jumps, grenades, and class specific perks? No, and I'll go deeper into this further down. No Exotics That's right. You won't need to cry nerf any longer. You can play this playlist and save yourself from the boiling anger we all can have. Exotic weapons and armours will be totally excluded from this playlist to make this completely fair. Classes Yeah. This is where this can become a little unfair, but I believe we can conjure up a solution. For each class, I envision each class having their own specific quirks, with grenades, melees, and jumps. Each class will be able to choose their various codex's and stat builds. If you wanted to maximize agility, you could. If you wanted to maximize armour and recovery, you could. You can switch between subclasses, but they would do exactly the same thing. You'd only reason you'd probably switch between them was if one looked more appealing to you. Hunters
Grenade: Solar or Arc grenade. These would be the same; large blast radius, DoT. This distinguishes this class by simply doing damage and keeping peoples' health low. Melee (this is debatable): Classic knife, no throwing knives, same lunge distance and speed. (No blink strike) Jumps: You would have the option to switch between all of the current jumps on hunters except for blink. Blink would be replaced by triple jump on arc hunter. (Arc hunter because there would be no supers to distinguish between classes other than damage type)
Titans
Grenade (this is debatable): Flashbang grenade and not suppression grenade. Both are balanced, but suppression grenade would be somewhat lackluster, for there won't be many abilities . This would distinguish the Titan's role of being a support class. Melee: Classic T-Rex arms, except that the titan's melee will be ever so slightly faster than every other class's melees. No force barrier or thunder gauntlets. Jumps: Everything that is available now is a fair choice.
Warlocks
Grenade: Vortex grenade or solar flare grenade. This distinguishes the Warlocks as offensive and defensive. Warlocks will be able to push players or close off lanes. Melee: The warlock melee will stay with the range it has. There will be no burn from solar melees. Jump: All jumps will be the same except for the voidwalker's blink. This will be replaced with balanced glide.
Now, the gunplay. How I would go along with this, is how you would choose classes in Halo. In the Invasion game mode, you had different choices that included different weapon combinations. That is how I envision this happening, but with a huge customization twist. Note: All of the weapon types will be in the sweet spot. These are apt to change, but I will keep it like this for now Scout rifles = VoC firerate/impact Autorifles = shadowprice firerate/impact Handcannons = Fatebringer firerate/impact Pulse rifles = strangers rifle firerate/ impact Shotguns = Dead Orbit shotgun FR/impact (to distinguish the shotgun's role) Sniper rifles = LDR 5001 FR/impact Fusion rifles = Light/Beware charge rate/impact Rocket launchers = modest blast radius and velocity, slow fire rate Machine guns = MG18A Harms Way FR/impact All of the weapons in this playlist will be white tier weapons for their low stats, so each situation would be well defined. After you choose a primary, you phase into a next part of the customization screen where you will pick your special weapon. You can pick a fusion rifle, sniper rifle, or shotgun. And last but not least, your heavy weapon. You will only have two choices (No way bro!) between a machine gun or rocket launcher. A machine gun for the reserved, and a rocket launcher for those who crave the blast only a rocket could make. These are my ideas for a fun, balanced, and skill based game mode to improve Destiny's gaming experience. What are your opinions? I'd love to hear 'em. Please leave a like and Bump.

  • I don't mind supers or people using whatever gun they like. I like the idea of inferno, but didn't enjoy the play itself. i understand why people like it though, just wasn't my speed. But I like people having supers and playing skillfully with them and their guns. It adds to the arsenal people can use. Taking away aspects of what people have at their disposal won't really change the game or make it more or less challenging, but will simply strip the Destiny feel from the game. You will still have people who wreck everyone. Heck, look at the youtubers that purposefully go in using terribly inefficient weapons and only use them and still dominate. It isn't that your idea is bad, but for me, it sounds more like someone trying to eliminate things that they feel give others an unfair advantage over them. Something that would be problematic would be population. How many would play that over one of the other options? Could it be within the rotation? Probably, but what are the main types that people play now? I know control and clash, skirmish and rumble are probably the front runners, so how do the rotated game modes doing as far as wait time for enough players to match up? There would be people that play it, but would it have the critical mass to stay populated regularly?

    • Bump. With the addition of Mayhem, I think this is something people would enjoy on the other end of the spectrum. There certainly have been many calls for something like this since launch, why not put it up now and then?

    • Why would anyone want a bare bones playlist in Destiny? Don't you remember Slayer Pro and how it would never manage to have even a triple digit population in it? There's 10+ years worth of fps games behind Destiny that didn't have supers and were all bare bones in comparison. I can't see why anyone would care or see a need to strip Destiny down to simplicity -- that would be like stripping your Mercedes down to just a seat, a steering wheel and four wheels mounted to an engine. Whatever for?

    • Nice idea they should test it out just like they did with salvage and those game modes that come by once and a while
