I personally think that exotic weapons should be super powered, and strike fear in the hearts and minds of those who encounter guardians who have them. Gjallerhorn should blow everything to bits, Thorn should suck you dry of life, and TLW should rapid-fire headshots with blazing speed! Otherwise, they would not be exotic! What is the use of having exotic weapons that are no more powerful than their legendary counterparts? They are exotic, for crying out loud. What say you? Edit 1: I should also say that the game should not matchmake people with exotics equipped with people who don't have them, and you should not be allowed to switch to an exotic after you get place into a match. This way, the game enforces balance by weapon power. In other words, if you have exotics equipped, you will be placed in matches only with other people who have exotics equipped too. This ia a PvP sentiment mind you. Edit 2: I hear the numerous comments about "super powered" and "god weapons", and I agree that blatantly high impact/damage is not the answer. I do think that exotic weapons should be set apart, significantly different really unique, and highly desired. But they should also be very hard to get, and require an appropriate skill to gain the benefit of whatever perks they possess - you should have to do more that simply hit a single button on the controller. Also keep in mind that what I have just said contains a mix of the ideas many of you have shared on the thread. :)
