Okay so I'm from the UK and have had destiny since it first come out, I'm pretty pissed off that the taken king expansion is £40 over here when it is $40 in the US (equivalent to around £28)
problem is I obv do want the expansion just grieves me to pay the forty pounds when I know others are getting it alot cheaper!!
If I sell my destiny disc and use the money as money off the taken king edition, will the game still recognise my characters are on the same game as I'd obv have to install it as a new game. I have 3 34's every exotic in the game, and have put over a 1000 hrs into so for obv reasons I'm pretty apprehensive in case I lose my characters.
Do anyone have an insight into this????

Yes, your characters will still be there. Their saved to Bungie's servers not your console.

Sold my disc for the digital collectors edition. Everything worked out well.

Edited by TaberNaCl gg: 8/16/2015 3:04:15 PMI did the same thing with battlefield 4. I had a hard copy, traded it for cash and bought the digital premium edition and everything worked without having to do anything other than install the game, no licences to transfer or any messing about, I would assume it will be the same for destiny as I intend to do the same with that in September. I'm on the Xbox 1, not sure if its different for different systems. Edit. All your characters and progress are saved on bungies servers and have nothing to do with the game on your system.

Is there anywhere I can contact that bungie would confirm this??

It goes off your PSN or XBOX Live/Microsoft account. If you log in on your account and play Destiny on your friends console, it will carry over. As long as you are on your account.

I think you need destiny in order to play ttk as well as both expansions. I read this off somewhere correct me if I'm wrong.

Edited by Loyalpayer: 8/16/2015 2:37:47 PMThink it will reset you to zero. Not sure though i may be wrong. Also the original game at trade in is almost worthless most shops have huge stacks of them that nobody wants.

Idk if this applies, but I sold my PS3 (including Destiny), bought a PS4 (and Destiny), and everything was still there. So yes, I sold it, and it was still there
