In a lot of games I play I see people go 2-17 or 5-22, sometimes even 0-20 and beyond. I'm not here to criticise I'm here to find the logic in waddling off in the same direction to your inevitable death 20 times a match.
I'm not great at Crucible, really I'm not. Check my stats and you'll see a bang average player who manages to avoid being a hinderance to the team courtesy of his trusty Pulse Rifle. Average Joe.
Stop doing it, you're not doing yourself or the team any justice when you could quite easily be doing a lot better via altering your gameplay to suit your ability. Feeding yourself over and over to the enemy team is pointless and the only thing you'll learn from doing it is how to take a thorn up the arse.

Edited by clmcclure: 8/5/2015 10:56:37 PMI can have matches where I am at the top of the leader board and then get smoked and go 1-20. Now obviously the talent I am going against is better, just wish there wasn't such a wide margin of who I get paired with. I want to continue to improve and it would be nice if I could gradually increase those who I go against. Typically when I play by myself ill do better but when paired with a couple friends of mine who are awesome I get smoked. Also I try rumble and have finished 2nd here and there but have never won a single match.

Feeeeed me semore
-
I normally sit around a 1.5 - 2.0 KD with highs of of 20.0 and 27.0, but there are some matches where I just can't find my groove and end up with a 0.37. Everyone has bad games :(
-
Yep, just carried two people in Salvage. They got 7 kills combined, and I got 45. We barely won

This is the first Game I've pursued since Super Mario brothers 3 when I was a kid, so when I first hit the crucible, I wasn't in long before realizing pvp wasn't for me. Then when the Thorn bounty dropped I was pretty upset being "forced" into pvp when it's not what I like to play. But really, all it forced me to do, was slow down and quit getting my head blown off every 8 seconds. Still not a pvp-god by ANY stretch, but my K/D on my hunter was about a .25 when I started my bounty. I'm still only about 1 or so now but it's WAY more fun. Slow down. Observe your team, observe your OPPONENTS, learn the maps (except for the Cauldron. No one should ever even play the Cauldron) and it can be kinda fun. I've had a blast the last 2 Iron Banners.
-
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I need them so my K/D will look good
-
I remember it was like 3 or 2 days ago and I was teamed up with a scrub. This kid went about 3-25 in doubles I messaged him and he replied, "I am new to Destiny and I am not good at pvp" he had around 2870 grimoire score....
-
heres an idea to try. make note of these people and block them on which ever console you are on and then you won't have to be bothered by them.
-
Most idiots on here will just say " I can do whatever I want I bought the game" which baffles me. So you like feeding the opposing team kills and giving your team the loss even though you aren't cut out for crucible you play to ruin others experiences because you paid for it.
-
In Iron Banner if I can't seem to score a kill I'll suicide for 10 deaths in a row to lower my KD and hopefully drop into an easier bracket. My personal worst was something like 0.15 in one match. But 20 of my deaths were suicides.
-
Funny thing is they're the ones getting gjallarhorn
no joke, during Iron Banner he went 0.02 and got gjally while my sorry ass(at the top of the leader board) got nothing
-
Don't hate on people for being new to FPS, you were once there too. They have to die in order to learn. It's the people who have been playing since day one and have a .6KD that I wonder about
-
I was playing IB and there was a lvl 21 on my team and he didn't get a single kill in 3 matches...why even try
-
You make me smile
-
Random tip but if you sprint a lot you're gonna get killed a lot. Ever since I stopped sprinting into combat my kd has gone up
-
Had a player go 1-20. I was mad because we lost, but I still did well personally so really I'll call it a wash. I like winning, but I like improving more. So while it sucks to have a bad team or teammate, you can always focus on yourself and your skill instead of kicking someone while they're down.
-
My K/D stays around 0.5 I think. To be honest, I very rarely play PvP - damn thorn bounty not withstanding. I got talked into trying Iron Banner last week. Played one night, hated it, not going back. I've played some PvP in my day - Old school Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear, Battlefield 2142, Assassins Creed. So I'm not against the entire concept - Destiny PvP just doesn't do it for me, and I feel my time is better spent on the part I enjoy - the PVE game.
-
You're right. How can you be that bad at this game? I'm under a 1.0 kd I think but I know I'm better then a lot of people
-
Dude I've gone 6-14 in some games where I can't do shit, because I just get split spawned and team shot over and over, then sometimes I don't miss anything and destroy the same team
-
There is no value in K/D or even wining the match. RNG is the great equalizer
-
Three points: 1. People will play what they want. Should I tell you what to play? No, I don't care what you play, only me. 2. Why do folks get great k/ds? It's the bad crucible players like me. We basically feed you easy kills. You don't want to have to go up against the best all the time? 3. How will folks get better? How many hours does it take to "git gud" in Destiny? Some of y'all come in at level 5 and kill it. Others take some time. If they stop playing they will never get better. If you don't like playing with bad randos then come with a team of good players. Then y'all can kill me 49 time in a game. You're welcome in advance!
-
Some people aren't gods at pvp, get over it. Telling other people how they should be enjoying the game makes you just as bad.
-
To get that sweet, sweet revenge, eventually he won't be looking down the snipe line, and I will kick his ass.
-
That 35:3 beast on the other team is ruining my fun. I mean he killed me like 20 times. Stop it, your ruining the game for me. See what I did there?
-
Lol my dad plays halo 4 with me and my brother sometimes and his KD is probably like .09 and he averages like 15-20 deaths per game (he has improved some now) but my win percentage has actually for up with him playing cause he just charges after the flag and gets captures

Edited by Broken Messiah: 8/4/2015 2:58:19 PMSometimes something just... doesn't work. I had a game the other day that I played exactly like every other match. Never got a kill. No idea how or why, but it was like I just couldn't do that last couple points of damage. Next two games I had 1+ kd and normally average 1+ these days. Was it lag? Did I need caffeine? Was I simply getting tired of getting Thorned? No idea.
