I've been thinking up a few game ideas in my head. What would I need to have guaranteed in one?

Plenty of non-pvp and non-pve content. Things that draw you into the game's universe but aren't intense. Crafting systems, player housing, card games, and things like that.

A good balance of frequently added PvP and PvE content.

Interactive environments. This is the biggest thing missing from Destiny. It can be as simple as a place that "tells a story" (like in Skyrim, when you come across an empty fishing camp, and then find a boat and two skeletons at the bottom of the lake). NPC's out in the real world. People you can talk to. Destiny has this weird completely separated gameplay, whereas Halo, Borderlands, and many other similar games had people that you actually interacted with during gameplay. Customization. This is one that Destiny does fairly well, but it could be better. I get way more into a world and a story if I can create the character. I don't like games where you are a set character living their story, unless it's a really good story. Choices that affect what happens. Destiny has a completely linear storyline. Games like the Dragon Age series are not only affected by your decision, but future games in the series are affected by your decisions in previous games. That's awesome.

A reason to invest your self in the game world (Player housing, good lore, fun pvp, etc)

Not just character customization but armor customization... I'm talking about like special emblems on your armor, colors, individual pieces that can be swapped and interchanged. Stuff like that. Also not as much impassioned on the grind. I find it very annoying that grinding is what keeps me from enjoying games like destiny and eso I just don't like when grinding is implemented in those types of games. I can stand loot fests though like borderlands because often times you do get rewarded from beating a boss and such but when I beat Crota dozens of times and all I get is some shit resource while everyone else gets a gun or exotic? Like wtf? Where's my reward!!! Sorry kinda ranted toward the end :/

Shit ton of matchmaking dungeons that are also procedurally generated.
